Mueller's Team Released A Statement Monday, Legacy Media Silent

This is absolutely comical. The legacy media has been hanging on every thread of the Mueller investigation, hoping and praying that they're going to get Trump. Every Mueller action has been headline news and endlessly analyzed. The Mueller team hasn't released many public statements and the ones they have, have been pretty bad for the narrative (see the memo rosenstein read when mueller indicted a few russians).

Over the weekend McClatchyDC, a very reputable news source, claimed to have a source that said cohen did visit prague in August of 2016 (despite cohen proving that he wasn't by showing his passport to a reporter and USC confirming he was actually on their campus during the time-frame alleged). This would be a great confirmation of the otherwise dubious steele dossier. Unfortunately Mueller used his statement monday to put the hammer down on that.

So here is team Mueller's statement:

“What I have been telling all reporters is that many stories about our investigation have been inaccurate,” the Mueller spokesperson said. “Be very cautious about any source that claims to have knowledge about our investigation and dig deep into what they claim before reporting on it. If another outlet reports something, don’t run with it unless you have your own sourcing to back it up.”

In other words: Stop with the fake news. Quit fabricating sources or running with unverified sources. Obviously this is hostile to the legacy media, who all ran with the story, in one form or another (each word is a different outlet). They couldn't wait to get in on the dirt on cohen, because it leads to trump.

But unsurprisingly none of them reported on the new mueller team statement, or if they did, they buried it. This goes hand in hand with how they've dealt with other stories. The legacy media will tweet a factually incorrect headline which gets hundreds or thousands of retweets and likes, then hours later they issue a retraction (sometimes late at night to keep the audience low) or correction, which gets a few dozen retweets or likes. Mission accomplished, journalistic integrity still technically intact, and public believes propaganda they want them to. It's quite tiring.

It is rather strange that they MSM don't seem to be interested.
Anyone would think they had an agenda and were not really news outlets, but that can't be right....right?

Too bad nowhere did they ever say...this story.
Look at all the fake news you guys believe.
Then stop believing it.
That's all they're saying.
You're making connections that were never mentioned.
All weekend long...
Jumping to conclusions.

Who needs the Russians to interfere with our elections when we have homegrown media that have figured out how to get away with reporting with the objective of manipulate facts. There is absolutely no integrity left in the mainstream media. Even less in the not-so-mainstream.

Where will this end? There is no entity that oversees the media to hold them accountable. It should be us, the people, but too many people are glued to the TV and keep feeding the beast.

Wait....so you think they are referring to any news source other than the ones you use?

This statement works both ways you know? Ie people who talk about this investigation being near over or talk about how Mueller has no evidence of any crimes.

Exactly.

The important thing to remember is that all "outlets", fringe or not, want page views. Getting you to click that link is what they are trying to do.

Truth is more subjective. To understate it.

This is why I've said over and over on ATS that I'm withholding judgement about Trump's guilt until after the investigation is over and all the evidence has been presented for public consumption. Not a minute beforehand. We just don't have access to all the evidence Mueller has collected and making any judgments in ANY direction is dishonest until we do.

That is the most logical position to take.

Those that claim there is no evidence of wrongdoing and that all those involved have not committed any crimes and just as illogical as those that say the opposite.

Also, I hope one of you noticed the use of a very specific propaganda term in the OP...legacy media.

That is an old term that has been used quite a bit, but it's interesting to see that some still use it.

Not quite.
It's actually logical (and healthy for society) to presume innocence until proven guilty.
Therefore those that say, at this juncture, that he is completely innocent are on firm ground.
Those that say he is guilty are whackos.
Those that are waiting are generally living in hope and don't want to look as stupid as the whackos if and when no charges are brought.

The way to understand the nuance of this story is to place it in its proper context. The quote from the Mueller spokesperson was issued in response to questions about the alleged Cohen trip to Prague:

A spokesperson for the special counsel’s office wouldn’t comment on the Cohen-Prague story specifically, but told The Daily Caller News Foundation that “many stories” about the Russia investigation have been “inaccurate.”

Here’s Why You Should Be Skeptical Of That Michael Cohen Prague Story - Daily Caller

This indicates, to me, that there is a strong probability that the, "inaccurate," stories likely include those revolving around Cohen's supposed trip to Prague.

There a whole 'nother scheme going on here. One side of the political machine is striving for the curtailment of free speech. What better way to do it than to have The American Public shout it down.

The only way to handle this is with the whip. Drag the liars out into the street and whip them and whip them and whip them. Whip them until they renounce their citizenship and then expel them from the country. Expel them right into the ocean. Pacific; Atlantic; Gulf of Mexico; who cares?
