The proposals for “draining the swamp” has always been about ethics reform, not about refusing to hire people you do not like.

you are right.
trump continues what his precursors did and what hillary would have done too.

they fooled us with obama.. yeah, what "change"??
they fooled us with trump.. yeah, what "draining of the swamp"??

deep state is in full control and continues its ugly strategy as scheduled unless we the people smoke them out personally.

You know what's so funny? First responses... no dispute to the OP. We all know he's full of s*** and there's no swamp draining. It's all about left first right.

Loving the posts. Keep em' coming.

It's just a fantastic thing that you are so firmly rooted in the middle here. Oh wait, you aren't. So you are just talking out your ass. Got it.

Assad is using chemical weapons killing women and children. That is justification enough.

That's an appeal to emotion and has no place in a logical discussion.

Logical fallacies are not justification whatsoever.

I certainly don't support this stupid war in Syria, but to blame it on Trump is beyond stupid. If Hillary had been in there it would have happened way earlier and without the fake chemical attack it took to convince Trump to act.

So it's stupid to blame Trump for decisions he actually made, but we can blame Hillary for something that she never even did?

Please don’t ask me if you are being stupid. It is far to tempting to respond and I am sure against the T&C.

Or you are honest and realize how what you said is rather stupid itself.

But I doubt it. If there is one thing you guys are not known for on ATS, it's honesty.

He's pissing off the left and that makes me happy.
That and he's not Hillary.

You mean Hillary who he said "Dont vote for her shes a war monger she will keep us in Syria"

Im not willing to lose more of my brothers and sisters and a backwater sandtrap, just to "PISS OFF LEFTISTS" the hell is wrong with you?

Come on man..........at what point do you get it?

Hes basically given up on the wall, hes was gonna fund DACA, he was going to pull out of Syria, now hes committed to us there longer, BOMBING them JUST LIKE OBAMA.........hes advocated taking firearms invalidating right to due process......

Wake up man.........wake the fk up

I think it's blatantly obvious now that the people we elect to run this country aren't the people running this country.

Don't forget all the scandals, and all the criminals he's hired. All the overpriced flights and trips, 30,000 dollar office furniture, people getting fired or not confirmed for being criminals or traitors, Trump is the most corrupt President in US history by a huge margin- no once else comes remotely close.

So what should we do? Both the left and the right are corrupt and in cahoots. Should we go in there and grab them by the nap of the neck and toss them down the steps? It would be a good start.

The only reason Trump was considered an outsider is because his own kind despises him. It was never that he was any different from them. His sordid history as a private citizen pretty much confirms that much.

Now, now...

It's much more efficient to drain the swamp of monsters if you are the one who puts the monsters there in the first place. Then you can kick them out and look like a hero!

No need to waste efforts hunting up any other monsters.

With every thread you prove to us your lack of political insight.

You know what's absolutely hilarious?

An entire 3rd of a nation now thinking they are politically savvy simply because they are triggered. I wish the majority of you all would just go back to watching football and dancing with the stars. All you do is prove time and time again to have a political cognitive impairment.

The previous administration was worse in terms of filling the swamp. The fact you all deny it proves my point. A suggestion would be rather than writing op ed opinion pieces try and come up with some rational solutions to fix the problems you all are continually harping on...

In other words **** or get off the pot...

You DO know that the left comprises a BIG part of that swamp, right? I fail to see you making any other point than "Trump sucks." OK, many of us can get behind that. However that also admits that the left sucks too. Not a strong debate point.

They both suck. It is a coin toss on which s worse because they are so close. Now with the right going after the 2nd amendment, I think they suck more.

This is what happens when the two party system runs the show they can continually erode the nation's people away to accept the crap they offer.

Some things are just inevitable.
Wouldn't have mattered who won the election.

If you were to put a box over Trumps head, those on the left and right could not tell if Trump is Bush or Hillary.
He is serving his corporate, banking and war masters like the last 5 presidents.

No really what swamp is he draining? It's absolutely hilarious how Trump's supporters continue to insist there's any swamp draining in the face of everything happening right now.

Not this Trump voter.

Instead of draining it, he's adding more damn gators!!!

From a distance, enough distance to see little to choose between Hillary and Trump, the President talking about ethics is perfect irony.

The fact that we can hear stories about Trump having an affair, with a porn star while his wife was pregnant, without batting an eyelid and, in some instances, defending it, suggests we have reached all time lows in our expectations of the President. Ditto the questions of financial probity and nepotism.

That's just on a personal level. If you look at the way his policies are shaped by and benefit Wall Street and foreign investors, you have to ask yourself who's ethics he wants to reform - the ethics of the checks and balances of the US government or the ethics of the raptor capitalists that brought the world to the brink of economic collapse in 2008?

What doesn't help is the sports team mentality that cheers him on simply because he upsets his opponents.
