The militants from Douma were already being evacuated at the time of the supposed chemical weapons attack. The battle was over. The Syrians and the Russians had everything to lose and nothing to gain by using chemical weapons. On the other hand, the Saudi backed Jaish al-Islam military faction had everything to gain from western intervention.

Sieges are a natural part of warfare and Jaish al-Islam was a well funded, trained and equipped military group that was well entrenched and had hoarded international relief and supplies for themselves and their soldiers. They were not a group of rebels seeking liberty and freedom as you believe. The Syrian Army also suffered greatly from sieges and still do in Fu'ah and Kefraya. Except when sieges were completed by the opposition they lined up Syrian Soldiers and murdered them. They weren't evacuated in buses back to friendly lines like how the Syrian Army has done to areas that have fallen.

Unfortunately, to know what has happened in Syria takes more than emotionally charged one-liners which you seem to be fond of delivering. Feel free to debate my knowledge on this issue instead of resulting to personal sniping. I've been involved in this conflict since before it started and have not gone a day without researching it. I'm more than prepared to debate you on any occurrence during the conflict.

No they didn't your wrong
April 2nd group leaves by April 4th the busses were sent back empty because negotiations Sr
Tart to fall apart. and on April 6th Assad and the Russians break the deal and start bombing. The next day they use chemical weapons. You are lying when you say it was over the cease fire failed.

I find something ironic the Russians are not upset about Assad being attacked. They are upset because Putin's threats were dismissed. So Russians are mad because they feel Putin was disrespected because they ignored Putin's threats.

Here was Russia's response
Russia's ambassador to the US warned that there would be consequences for the strikes, adding that it was not acceptable to insult Russia's president.

"A pre-designed scenario is being implemented," Russian Ambassador Anatoly Antonov said on Twitter.

"Again, we are being threatened. We warned that such actions will not be left without consequences."

"Insulting the President of Russia is unacceptable and inadmissible. The US - the possessor of the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons - has no moral right to blame other countries."

You know how when two people get into a heated argument, and one leaves and on the way out they slam the door? Kinda nuts to think countries do the same thing.

The "predesigned" scenario was probably a live stream of a dead man switch to their nuclear arsenal ,counting down, with no one there to push the 60 minute reset from the empty chair spinning slightly off screen.

Or they shot a supersonic cruise missile across one of our carriers bow....

I think we just spent 100 million dollars making desert sand glass and injuring 3 people.

Also we proved that our enemies should buy up Russian missile shields. Sales will boom.

And we did that because we flaunted our military instead of using it only when its needed.

Like a jackass waving a gun around. We deserve to have a destroyer captured and scuttled with one of its own missiles.

We messed up.

Also, what "chemical facilities" does Assad need to strap 20 year old chlorine packs to gas barrels and chuck them out of an unmarked helicopter?

None? So we blew up what at 1.8 million a pop?
The pool sheds where the rebels found the old chlorine packs for pool water?

We have a bunch of sociopaths running everything! They do not give a crap about You, but they decide if you live or die. They decide if we go to war or not. Not for the good of the country or people, but for them!

When are people going to snap out of this brainwashing and conditioning! ?

The west got away with Iraq, and got away with Libya. How many more times will they get away with it!

Are you really that dumb! Yes, we have been doing this for hundreds of years, but back then, we did not have the weapons that could destroy the planet! Huge difference there!

You telling me to grow up! Not everyone wants a war! Not everyone craves a war!

Seriously! You are the one that needs to grow up!

I agree 1000% !!

The venerable A-10 is another classic example of this same philosophy.

...yet, we just HAVE to spend trillions developing and deploying some other ultra-high maintenance, high-tech, stratospherically expensive rock thrower. (sigh)

I'm torn on this subject. Al-Assad needs to go, and the use of chemical weapons, for ANY reason (if true), by anyone, cannot be tolerated under any circumstances.

On the other hand, Syria is really just a proxy environment for the US and Russia to test weapons and tactics in a real-time, real-world, situation against each other without having to actually square off toe to toe in person.

Tail, meet wagging dog.

It is interesting that France is a part of this since they typically do not support American agenda. In the end no big WWIII, no nothing from Russia... This will end into a nothing burger..

Exactly
Putin saves face cause they knocked down few missiles, Trump looks like he didn't take any crap with the chemical attack and even got France to come along. Assad gets a flick on the nose.

It's absolutely strange that this is going as far as it is right now. France? That's just really odd to me that they're involved so heavily in this. The whole thing screams 'setup'!
