I doubt it as well. Russia did not retaliate, at least officially, against Turkey when Turkey shot down their fighter jet.

Russia caused a lot of ATS members to wet their pants after our 2017 strike on Syria. Those who know how things operate aren't that concerned about Russia. We told Russia where we were striking. They must respond with bluster and anger...like it was a surprise.

Knowing what I know about how control systems used in interception work, i was pretty sure they were bluffing all along. It probably got cold and Putin wanted to put his shirt on. They needed a new bluff tactic until the weather warmed up.
