WASHINGTON — Federal investigators are scrutinizing whether any of Jared Kushner's business discussions with foreigners during the presidential transition later shaped White House policies in ways designed to either benefit or retaliate against those he spoke with, according to witnesses and other people familiar with the investigation.
A federal grand jury in Washington has approved the first criminal charges in the special counsel’s investigation into Russian election interference, two sources told NBC News, marking a significant milestone in an inquiry that has roiled Donald Trump’s presidency.
A Middle East specialist with ties to Donald Trump’s team attended secret meetings during the presidential transition between the United Arab Emirates and Trump associates, and is now cooperating with special counsel Robert Mueller, two people familiar with the matter say.
The law enforcement investigation into possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign has identified a current White House official as a significant person of interest, showing that the probe is reaching into the highest levels of government, according to people familiar with the matter.
A source familiar with the matter told Reuters that Mueller was investigating whether anyone at the meeting or affiliated with the Trump campaign encouraged Russia to release damaging material it had collected on Clinton. Another told the outlet that Mueller was trying to determine if Trump had been informed of the meeting ahead of time, or if he was briefed after it took place.

if Mueller ever gets fired, believe it or not, I expect Congress will just rehire him and have him finish out the investigation. It is within their power. But then where would that leave Trump?
That is what is known as a constitutional crisis.
I think they've had enough. If Mueller finds he obstructed justice they will act.
If he finds he did not obstruct justice then trump can relax. Conspiracy though worse is harder to prove.

Would you rather no people unfamiliar with the matter talking about it?

Well that would be distressing. What a friggin waste of time and money if it turns out he was just having a hissy fit. What does it say about his ability to be a responsible leader.
Or his mental makeup?
Three sources familiar with the investigation said the findings Mueller has collected on Trump’s attempts to obstruct justice include: His intent to fire former FBI Director James Comey; his role in the crafting of a misleading public statement on the nature of a June 2016 Trump Tower meeting between his son and Russians;Trump’s dangling of pardons before grand jury witnesses who might testify against him; and pressuring Attorney General Jeff Sessions not to recuse himself from the Russia investigation.
Apparently, Peter Strzok, the FBI agent who conducted Flynn’s January 2017 interview, believed Flynn had been truthful. Reportedly, the FBI decided to take no action. On March 2, then-FBI director James Comey confirmed this to the House Intelligence Committee. In light of this, questions are being asked about the nature of Flynn’s guilty plea: whether the special counsel made Flynn aware of Strzok’s assessment; and, if not, whether he had an ethical, if not a legal, obligation to do so.
As a former FBI agent, I believe the answers lie in an examination of the FBI’s disciplinary system under Mueller. In fact, this obscure Mueller process may well hold the key to understanding why Flynn’s guilty plea may be less a reflection of Flynn’s level of candor than a product of Mueller’s aggressive tactics — particularly, the tactic of using disingenuous allegations of lying to decide judicial matters.
My observation, and that of others, found that Mueller’s system engaged several astounding and potentially unlawful practices such as disingenuously charging employees with lying, misrepresenting or omitting evidence to support such charges, and preventing the acquisition of evidence to refute such charges.

I doubt anyone from the sixties is still in the government.
