The fallacy that the right consumes its news primarily through television.

But that isn't what you said? You were pretty clear in using only Fox.

That said...of course they don't. Its all about volume. There is 1 single televised outlet for a right leaning political mind to find an echo chamber: Fox. Beyond that, the only other alternative is to go online and find various blogs and whatnot.

WHich is exactly what we see. And, as it turns out, so many of those blogs are faked that the right, starving for news, ends up finding BS stories.

If media didn't lean at all, it would certainly help. But since they do...it creates this whole dynamic that we see play out here, with ridiculous blogs like Gateway Pundit being read and disseminated.

Let me get this straight.

You guys on the right belittled and mocked everyone on the left for years and then elected one of the most brazen jackasses on the planet as a middle finger to the left, and you want to talk about karma now that Trumps feet are being held to the fire?

Cry me a river.

And as always, a nice day to you too.

I invite you to peruse the board here for a glimpse of what I speak of. Look back to the Obama era, look back to the threads about him, look back to the AMOUNT of negative threads about him, then contrast that with Trump. Then, if you really feel froggy, you can look at the fact that Obama was president for 8 years and so far, Trump has been POTUS for just over a year.

Sure ATS isn't the worlds barometer, but it's a good way to show that you haven't the tiniest of clues of which you speak. Not even enough to fit in the bumhole of a gnat.

To put it mildly, I was no fan of Barry O's (or GW or Clinton for that matter) but it wasn't until this last election cycle that I even knew ATS had an active political forum. I used to stop by here just for the cool space/science/aliens/conspiracy stuff. As soon as Trump became a serious contender for POTUS everything changed. Before that I barely noticed any Obama/Clinton threads and never had enough interest to check them out. Going by my experience on ATS, this nonstop and largely unjustified assault on Trump is unprecedented.

Or possibly this is just karma for 8 years of birther nonsense.

Yea, the Birther thing was adopted by most MSM outlets and almost ALL the republicans.
Derp.

And created by Hillary...hmmm where have we heard that name before...

If that's the case, then this level of disproportionate response would seem to portend that the next Democrat POTUS is going to experience absolute Hell on Earth directed against him or her with a venom never before seen. In keeping with the Karma argument, I can only say as a Conservative it will be glorious in the same manner the left seems to find this current liberal tantrum to be glorious.

No I said Foxlandia. It's a slur for the right wing echo chamber encompassing blogs, talk radio, television, and print media and it uses Fox because that media outlet is at the forefront of the echo chamber. Though if you only consume right wing media, I can see why you may not have heard it before.

You are just intent on ignoring Sinclair Broadcasting aren't you? Also, conservative talk radio is probably the BIGGEST purveyor of right wing talking points. Probably moreso than Fox News. Not sure why you keep ignoring that either.

The media wasn't nearly as slanted as the right blathers on about until the right ostracized the left by declaring anything it disagreed with "Fake news". The MSM had nowhere else to go but left after the right abandoned its role of keeping it centralized.

All I'm seeing here is "Do as say and not as I do" after eight years listening to Foxlandia bitch about Obama, Clinton, Liberals, and Socialists using all sorts of nasty language and hyperbole.

So enjoy your smug arrogance now, the hand of fate will not flinch when it's time to pummel your dumb ass.

I thought that's what the Trump election was supposed to do?

Oh that's cute, more whataboutism from you. I swear it's like walking into a library where the librarian constantly shushes everyone before going back to jamming out to Metallica with the volume on 10. Let me continue through the thread until I find you either accuse someone of using a strawman or, even more likely, resort to using a strawman of your own when the discussion becomes difficult for you.

I donno...it's not like Blackie McPresident ever got a free ride from the Good Ol' Party. That selective memory is really pretty amusing.

I really don't think I should have to spell out what I meant when I used that slur. I think you know damn well what I meant and are being deliberately obtuse to me (again).

DING! DING! DING! There it is!!! The "poor me victimized again" strawman argument! OMFG I could make a million bucks in Vegas if only they'd open an ATS window.

He got a free ride from the majority of the media, which I personally think was probably worth a whole hell of a lot more than Trump's "free ride" from the GOP... which, come to think of it, how do the Never Trumpers fit into that narrative, Johnny? Is it really a "free ride" when you have asshats like John McCain and Bill Kristol within the GOP who do nothing but bitch about Trump? Your definition of a free ride is very different from most other's definition of the concept.

Which "left" do you speak off? Where I live (LA), many working class leftists are against both Trump and the establishment. A lot of them see Trump as just another stooge for the TPTB.

I consume almost no media. Its all biased, and I don't have time to read a dozen stories to try to understand it better. So I get quite a bit of news from ATS, as my aggregate site. I get a fairly wide breadth of news.

If, at any time, i am reading through an article and I see the author use ad homs and humorous insults like "Foxlandia", i click out and ignore that article. That may explain why I am unfamiliar with that term. I read news for facts.

Can you tell me where I can view Sinclair's 7pm news broadcast?

Im not ignoring them. Im stating that they spend 30 minutes a day relaying scripted news from New York, or reporting local murders, covering the weather, and telling me how the local high school volleyball team did at least weeks tournament. Im not ignoring them...i choosing to not consider them. But if you really want...sure. Ok. Sinclair gets local news, and may spend a couple of minutes a day covering a story where political slant is even possible. Ill squint really, really hard and try to see your point here.

This beginning of the end crap never ceases to make me laugh. It's like a serialized cartoon , where the villain swears up and down that his latest scheme will end the protagonist, despite him spending the entire season with failed plots. If it's not the ending due to him making fun of a "retarted" reporter or that Muslims soldiers family(pre presedency), then it's the end due to indictments unrelated to Russian collusion and raids for tapes with lewd comments.

Everytime I have talked to you about the thread';s topic, you reply with some sort of histrionic horsesnip about whataboutism or strawmen because you dislike actual conversations which require some defense of your point against inconvenient arguments, so I'm just skipping that noise now and jumping right into the meat and potatoes. In what must have been yet another exercise in projection, you said quite some time back that you enjoyed pointing out people's hypocrisy... I agree, it's fun as hell.

I hate to break it to you but ATS is pretty right wing in its news reporting. Just because a few liberals like myself try to maintain a balance doesn't really mean this isn't true either.

Can you tell me where I can view Sinclair's 7pm news broadcast?

I don't know where you live; nor do I know what local affiliates are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting in your area even if you told me. Though it seems to me you can Google that info yourself since you should know those things yourself.

Sinclair, the pro-Trump, conservative company taking over local news, explained

The video is just the most recent example of Sinclair stations’ strong partisan tilt. A recent paper by Emory University political scientists Gregory Martin and Josh McCrain found that when Sinclair buys a local station, its local news program begin to cover more national and less local politics, the coverage becomes more conservative, and viewership actually falls — suggesting that the rightward tilt isn’t enacted as a strategy to win more viewers but as part of a persuasion effort.

So you are agreeing its slanted, then?

That is all I needed to hear. Thank you.

Everything is slanted; this is inevitable as humans are biased creatures. So it reasons our biases will show through in reporting. What needs to happen is the other side needs to rejoin reality so that it can pull the slant back down to a more moderate level. Stop declaring every piece of news that is negative of Trump "fake news". Own some bad news. Things like that.

Like i have said countless times: I don't even like Donald Trump. I'd never vote for the guy. But Ill be damned if the media hasn't found a way to make me defend the guy.

Obama was the media darling for his first 5 years... OUR FIRST BLACK (well kind of black) PRESIDENT!! ...Never could do wrong, had the DOJ, FBI, CIA wrapped around his little finger so even when he did wrong, real wrong...crickets mostly.

Trump had everyone against him from day one of his announcement to run, the Republican party didn't come on board until late in the game when they were forced to, and even with that they have never really been with him even today.

Now the media and Hollywood. Holy crap... TRUMP STOPPED THE FIRST FEMALE PRESIDENT! How bad is that? lol
Hollywood, you know the ones who get everything they want even the green M&Ms, the best looking and the smartest people on the planet, who know what is best for all of us...LOST! All the power and talent of Hollywood lost and they will never get over that no matter what Trump does...

If it brings America to her knees to get Trump out on anything so be it... The media and Hollywood will never forget that they lost, and they never loose...
