We hope you come to your senses’: Russia warns US against illegal Syria strike
The allegation of a chemical attack, pushed by the pro-militant sources, has been eagerly supported by the US and other Western countries, who squarely pinned the blame for the unverified incident on Damascus. Russian military specialists, in the meantime, visited the site of the purported incident, which was surrendered by the militants, and found no signs of a chemical attack or any victims of it. Nebenzia has called for supporting the international chemical watchdog’s investigation on the ground in Syria before jumping to any conclusions. However, he believes that those seeking to topple the legitimate government of Syrian President Bashar Assad would not wait for the results of the investigation, claiming they are instead seeking to launch a strike.

I dunno tactical nukes maybe but destroying the world over a skirmish in Syria, unlikely. I find it appalling thou more people are worried about trump, over a crisis between the west and east not seen since the bay of pigs. Just shows us the ignorance in the world I suppose, but yes I agree it’s pretty serious. Also just part of a compound problem in the world at the moment. We are not living in harmony right now that is for damn sure. Not even close.
Since 2014, the OPCW has an ongoing mandate to investigate suspected chemical weapons attacks in Syria. The mission is designed “to establish facts surrounding allegations of the use of toxic chemicals... for hostile purposes in the Syrian Arab Republic.” The scope of the fact-finding mission is to determine whether banned substances were used, but not to assign blame. The incident allegedly occurred in the Damascus suburb of Douma on Saturday. It was reported by several rebel-linked activist groups, including the controversial White Helmets, who accused the Syrian troops of dropping chlorine-filled munitions on the area. They also claimed it affected dozens of civilians, and footage of children being allegedly treated for poisoning has appeared online. Damascus has called the alleged attack a “fabrication.” Russian military specialists have explored the area as Jaysh al-Islam militants occupying Douma began to evacuate from the city as part of a Russian-brokered deal with Damascus. Moscow said the specialists had found no traces of chemical weapons or any victims treated for chemical poisoning. READ MORE: 'Post-fact mindset in US: First punishment & then search for evidence to rationalize war-mongering' The OPCW’s announcement came shortly before an expected UN Security Council meeting on the alleged Douma incident. Both Russia and the US are expected to roll out draft resolutions calling for an international investigation into the purported attack. On Monday, the UN said it was unable to “independently verify the allegations” regarding Douma. “We're not in a position at this point to independently verify the allegations but, obviously, any allegation of continued use of chemical weapons is extremely, extremely troubling,” Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said.

I am thinking if and when we launch a missile strike or air strike on Syria, Putin won’t be dumb enough to launch a air strike on our navy in the med. I think he will attack the rebels against Assad’s army. Or use Syria and Iranian forces as a proxy. If he goes after the navy that won’t end well for him. Some strong middle eastern countries support the attack on Syria, putin is in the wrong on this one, no matter what games he plays in the chemical attack authenticity. But he may want to use his bomber and long range fighters or so called weapons that are new he has been testing out in Syria. The fact I am even trying to figure this out is a little terrifying.
