Thought you might this here like poem by John Cleese about Trump sycophant, journalist Sean Hannity, who most surely WILL attend the coorepondant's dinner!

Ode to Sean Hannity

by John Cleese
Aping urbanity
Oozing with vanity
Plump as a manatee
Faking humanity
Journalistic calamity
Intellectual inanity
Fox Noise insanity
You’re a profanity
Hannity [/1]

Right. Go to dinner with people who had a meltdown over 2 scoops of ice cream, condemn your every move, second guess your every decision and doing their best to get you fired.

Where I'm from that's called "kissing ass".
Also see "brown noser" and "hypocrite"

^^Exactly. Going to a dinner with people that hate everything about you and work everyday to ruin your credibility makes total sense...

You call him a coward? < - Case in point of why he shouldn't be bothered with going. OP and CNN together are like birds of a feather.

If that is the reason, why won't he do the Kennedy Center Honors?

Why wouldn't' he go and throw out a first pitch?

Why won't he go to London?

Why does he keep ducking out on duties that EVERY president does?

Oh, and I ind it so ironic that there are complaints here about media "fawning over Obama" when he went through all the scandals he did, the investigations he did, and yet you people love your Hannity and Fox and Friends ...You DO KNOW that they attend, too, right?

Do you go to dinner with people who hate you?.

Yes. I spend every Thanksgiving with my family.

"Presidential" as an adjective, is purely subjective and will change with the times. In 2016, to a large portion of the nation, it described traits that were no longer desirable.

Trumps lack of being "presidential" is what got him elected to begin with.

I'm not sure that's all that Bill ever did. I'd suggest that the poster was referring to when he wasn't banging interns. But use whatever narrow focus you require.

Well he did that a lot... In any case I think the correct word is that people want him to act more like a "Professional Politician", you know like the ones who have done almost nothing else but a life time of politics, boy they know how to talk no matter how useless they are. Maybe we can get back to our regular channel in 2020 with someone who says all the right things while being more worried about their tenure then actually fixing anything...

Then people can get back to their comatose existence.

Shouldn't the President be a person Americans respect and believe regardless of the period of office ? , not all Americans obviously but at least the majority.

I'm afraid if Donald Trump's lack of being presidential is a sign of the times then the future doesn't look to bright , come to think of it the future doesn't look that long.

From what I can tell...Trump was elected to office, which would indicate that he is what "most Americans" wanted.

You aren't seeing the big picture. Trump is just a symptom. The disease is a huge portion of our nation that is very restless, growing more angry, and willing to take a drastic action to try to have something that is actually "change". Not that lip service recieved prior.

I agree...Trump is a horrible choice for the office. Unfortunately, all we have are horrible choices. While I didn't vote for him, i saw him as a big "EFF YOU" to Washington DC and the 2 parties.

Didn't happen when he was President. Quite a big difference.
Even if it did, it's about as Presidential as JFK.
Not much point bleating on about being 'Presidential' as it's fairly obvious it's only a consideration for those that don't like the current choice of the electorate.

Wahh he isn't going to the dinner, insert ad hominem attacks against POTUS. Wahhh Obama was so graceful I miss Barry wahhhh.

If Hillary won we would be in a full scale war in Syria right now. If Obama was in office we would be in a full scale war in Syria right now. Have some #ing respect for POTUS, and honestly have some respect for yourself by taking a step back and realizing what the hell is going on right now.

POTUS has to earn respect, his lack of maturity and his lack of humility does not command respect. He's like a child that acts up when he doesn't get his own way.

Makes me laugh if it was Clinton refusing to go or her lawyers office raided many would be all over it.
But because trump is their coward they give a free pass.
Hypocrites.

The difference is Clinton is dirty enough to get raided and locked away forever if actually investigated, but she is on the team and is protected and glorified by the media. Hillary would have gone because the media machine would have gone over the top to give her a good reception and good optics.

Honestly, are you capable of critical thought beyond what the media tells you? I think your feelz tell you Trump is bad, reinforced by the major news corporations and other people that you agree with on social media. These forces + cognitive dissonance and inability to see other sides has blinded you. You are the coward.

Clearly a criminal would have been a better choice for POTUS right?
