In economic crime you follow the money, in geopolitics you ask who benefits.
And it sure ain't Russia.

Interesting thing about the rebellion... when it started it was overwhelmingly Syrian... now its mostly foreign fighters.

When you look at it in that light, who benefits the most from a chemical attack and that is probably the culprit.

Or it could be the rebels themselves.

These are lots not much different from their (official) ISIS counterparts; they demonstrably have no scruples taking out hordes of civilians whenever it serves them.

And it serves them way better, than it would serve Assad (or Russia or Iran).
