Breaking : Van drives into pedestrians in Germany

In what appears to be a terror attack a Van has driven into pedestrians in the German city of Muenster , initial reports say there are several dead with the number of those injured but at around 30 people .

A police spokeswoman has said there are "several dead, probably including the suspect". Local authorities have said about 30 people were injured in the incident, near the Kiepenkerl statue in the old town. Police asked people to avoid the city centre while they respond to the incident.

According to German press three people are dead with one of those being the driver.

Currently, there are numerous forces in the old town in Münster and lock off the area around the Kiepenkerl. The fire department confirmed that a car has driven into a group of seated people. On the sidewalks injured are provided. "The total number of those affected is about 50," says the press secretary of the fire department.

Minor heart attack there, pregnant wife was downtown but in a different city.

Hope the injured recover quickly and completely.

sorry meant me, my pregnant wife is in downtown dusseldorf right now... so seeing van hits pedestrians...my pessimistic mind immediately jumped to worst case scenario.

Reread it. He had a minor heart attack because his pregnant wife is downtown in a German city. I would react the same way reading that headline.

I think he's saying he panicked for a moment because his pregnant wife was downtown but luckily it turned out to be another German city.

Honestly, when I first read Irish haf's post I thought the same but then reread it and got the context. One of the reasons I hate digital media, context is sometimes hard to project.

"IF" it is a Islamic inspired terror attack the person that carried it out believes he has done a good job and gets his Virgins, that is the issue when a person has a thought process that encourages such actions and is in their mind justified by the teaching that they blindly follow..

I will that if you ever get to do any counter terrorism training which granted maybe unlikely unless job critical and you get to see the Daesh tapes giving instructions to their minions be prepared to be shocked to your core, using a vehicle is just the tip of the ice berg and the sad fact is all this comes down to not believing in their fairy tale and that warrants death....

For whatever reason there seem to be copious amounts of people that are in high ranking positions that are asleep at the #ing wheel with their head in the sand..

Sounds like he lived it. Not read it.

An EU news source now reporting the driver committed suicide.

Police reported several “dead and injured” and warned the situation is still “unclear.” The perpetrator committed suicide, police confirmed.

So, if it was an accident, how/why did the driver kill themselves? It's shaping up to lean more toward being a terror attack IMO.
