i breifly heard on the radio yesterday about one of saturns moons being man made or artificial, i only heard a little of it and cannot find any
information anywhere.
soory if it has been covered, but can anyone give me any info on this.
also apologys if any of my info is wrong, as i said i breifly caught this on the radio.
The moon in question is Mimas, and there's a huge crater in it that makes it (in some shots) look like "the Death Star" from Star Wars. However,
it's just a moon. No Darth HumVees hiding out there: www.universetoday.com...
The same thing has also been said about the Saturn moon, Iapetus. It's a moon; not an artificial satellite, but the unique feature may give some
interesting clues about how moons are formed: www.newscientist.com... news.bbc.co.uk...
The whole thing got discussed in detail during the Cassini flyby, so I'm closing the thread. Use the search for "cassini" and you'll find a lot
of interesting stuff.
