You say "left and right wing media", but let's be honest. The left wing media is BY FAR the bigger problem.

Why?

Non-print media:

The Left: ABC, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, CBS, NPR/PBS (tax payer funded), Hollywood

The Right: Fox News talk radio such as Rush Limbaugh, Sinclair Broadcasting (which is growing to be more and more local news affiliates, fringe websites and forums

FTFY

Virtually every radio station that isnt music and church that I know of except NPR is right wing leaning, they also have TV stations in Newsmax and OAN now which have been added to mainstream services. There is also The Blaze, tons of other services and platforms. If I listed out every source of news/media I could think of that is left vs right wing, and threw a dart at it, i'd be far more likely to hit a right wing source than a left wing source.

I know right? The attack on liberal media is so dishonest because those attackers never seem to admit their own brand of media is doing the exact things they are accusing the liberal media of doing but only to them.

Trucker. Dude. Where have you been. This has been reported umpteen times in the last few days. It has been, ready for this, all over the MSM. It has flashed on newsfeeds on browsers. So in reality, are you not conducting more of the same repeat repeat repeat that you are claiming MSM is doing?

Sure, the Sinclair crap should be expected. They own how many small media outlets across the country. Hell, in my area they own two of the three main outlets for news. The anchors and other reporters freely enterchange from one station to the other.

This is not ''news'' to conservatives and as much as conservatives would like to believe that it is only they who are aware of this, this notion of centralized media control has been on the top of progressive awareness campaigns for decades. Yes, DECADES. Maybe if more conservatives had bothered to pay attention to the warnings of progressives way back then we would not have the problems we have today. Hell, it was the Godhead Reagan that allowed the ownership regulations on media ownership to whither.

Le'ts not just notice the effect, main stream media control of public consciousness, but the WHY is has been allowed. We are now suffering from the accumulated effects of the conservative stance of kill the regulations way back in the 80s

One of the telling examples of the propaganda at work is the faces of the reporters. Not hired for journalistic prowess, rather hired because they have pretty faces or handsome faces. Look at the women behind the desks, all of them pretty and nicely coiffed, they could be movie stars from their appearance. Image over substance.

Yeah Fox News will even fire their women when they get too old.

The right has learned to use the same tactics as the left. The traditional media? The big boys? Still left.

What part of controlled do you miss? I saw Fox affiliates in the Link. This goes beyond left-right dynamics. Unless one suffers from a guilty conscious, that is.....

I've seen Rush Limbaugh lying to his fan base since the 90's using half truths and inciteful commentary. To me the Right has always been equally as guilty of this #. If anything its the near constant attacks against "liberal media" that have pulled it more towards using propaganda to push its agendas.

I thought the only wire was Associated Press (AP)? I don't care how many sources they claim to have, the video made it obvious they all say the same exact thing.

That Press Wire.

Precisely why I don't watch the MSM.

Its mind numbing, to say the least.

Yeah, that's actually local news. Sinclair Broadcasting controls 193 stations in 30-some odd states.

The big four are AP, Reuters (HQ'd in UK), AFP (HQ'd in France) and UPI. UPI used to be the number 2 but they started to slack off in the 80's and 90's and then in 2000 they were bought by the Moonies (The Unitarian Church which also owns the Washington Times).

Look at the data.

The so-called "liberal bias" is a monsterous lie created by a diabetic culture-vulture who is shilling viagra and wind-up radios.

Yes and no. Sinclair Broadcasting's ownership is FAR-right. In the recent past they've also forced their stations to run segments from the likes of Sebastian Gorka. A lot of the affiliates would try to meet the requirements by running mandated segments during off hours.

It's not a coincidence that Trump is promoting Sinclair on Twitter.

Donald J. Trump✔@realDonaldTrump

So funny to watch Fake News Networks, among the most dishonest groups of people I have ever dealt with, criticize Sinclair Broadcasting for being biased. Sinclair is far superior to CNN and even more Fake NBC, which is a total joke.

9:28 AM - Apr 2, 2018

See, Sinclair is pro-Trump and during the election, the Trump campaign had an exclusive deal with Sinclair setup by Kushner.

Currently, Sinclair is waiting for approval from federal regulators for its takeover of Tribune. Ajit Patel has already cleared the way at the FCC, overturning ownership limitations dating back to 1975.

Soon, Sinclair will be broadcasting in 72% of American homes.

John Oliver did a bit about it last Summer. Skip to 2:00 in the video to get an idea of the segments Sinclair forces affiliates to air.

Or skip to 14:00 to see the "Terrorism Alert Desk" segments that affiliates were mandated to run daily, regardless of whether or not there was actually any terrorism to report on... because fear! FEAR! FEAR!

LOL. The link is about control. Period. All Trump said was Sinclair was far superior to CNN and NBC. That's not hard to achieve. That doesn't make Sinclair a Trump supporter, merely less biased.

The left uses 'fear' all the way back to Reagan and him starting WWIII. Frankly, both sides use it, especially in the gun issues. Fear of guns vs the fear of having no guns...

But please don't insult us with the MSM isn't biased. There are so many examples that it isn't even worth our time bothering with. It would be wasted on individuals that still cling to an argument that the MM isn't dishonest....yes including Fox.

Seriously, OAN does a better job than most at fair reporting and I say that as a person who has worked in the industry.

The Anchors are almost all "Readers" these days. Journalists have, like Elvis, left the building.

On the one hand, and how it's sold in the newsroom, is that having centralized "producers" who write the stories lowers cost and that's true as far as cost. But what it really comes down to is control.

It's hard to have a controlled and sold-out "Bias Cop" in every affiliate, but it's easy--and again cost effective--to have a sellout News Director overseeing a smaller centralized "chop shop" that parcels out the stories. They report the truth when it suits them and either kill or spin stories that don't.

That's exactly how it works. Some "Readers" are nice folk, but for the most part they are extremely vain individuals that actually believe they are journalists even though they have nothing to do with shaping the story.

Alternative Media and Authors are the best bet these days and of course you have to sift them carefully as well.
