IF an ET visited Earth with any kind of superiority complex they would obviously do the "take me to your leader" drone thing.
One of the first things they would find is the Kryptos puzzle at the US CIA building and learn that IQ is just an equation Illusion.

If one suspends disbelief for a moment, and considers that Roswell was the actual capture of a craft and and crew, and the Washington Flap a few years later, their return to get their ship and crew back... then yes, there appear to be mutual understanding... as long as we don't mess with them, they won't buzz our nations capitol, rocking our Paradigm Boat, as it were.

As far as weapons, in a stand up fight we are stone age, comparatively speaking. We can't even shift dimensions...

Good thing Washington relented when they did in 1952, otherwise they might have had more on their hands than flights of advanced craft buzzing the capitol...

It's a bit difficult to give a guestimate on the aliens IQ, but for the the advanced types probably substantially greater than ours while for the probe type ufo orbs I'm not so sure, maybe less than ours but if the orbs are our souls as some believe............ Well exactly the same IQ as ours if averaged out.

First I don’t think there is any consensus amongst scientists.

Let’s think about intelligence in terms of human civilization. Do humans get more intelligent as time goes by? For example, are humans in the 21st century more intelligent than humans in the 1800’s?

Humans know more in terms of technology, biology, etc. but are humans more intelligent?

I think they would conquer it just the way they are trying - by infiltrating government, using propaganda, etc. just like the CIA.

well thanks ufoorbhunter .when I was making the post I talked about IQ... and you and other people expanded that with EQ. In hindsight I should also considered Eq as Emotional quotient might have an impact on their behaviour too.

In that context people assume that all we know from our scientists is the truth. But is it ? I for myself have an hard time believing everything NASA claims to be true. So isn't it logic to assume that in this scenario the information that scientists get by investigating space might not reveal all there is. In this scenario I don't blame the scientist , no conspiracies here. That's oversimplified I know.

Yet again most people believe what scientist say and at the same time state that ET has way more advanced tech than us humans. That doesn't compute... let me explain.

The whole pattern of sightings is more an add random , add hoc nature. But there are some (if one believes) constants. That is sightings (military / Radioactivity / Vulcano's).
Ok this maybe be sound farfetched but what if ET is partolling earth. (that's my own opinion)

If that's really is the case than ET must have it's bases somewhere very near. It might even have cloaked the very subjects scientists examine...

Well I think it isn't that big of an assumpion that ET could be (at least in theory) the classical man in the middle. Were the first datacommunitations even encrypted ? A picture from a for instance jupiter , is that untampered how would scientists even know ?

So it sounds kind of weird to me that scientists not even consider that idea to be relevant. So we explore space and in advance we know there is nothing out there that can intervere with our explorations. That is in my view a very naive kind of thinking.


The internet , radio and television....

We as a society create a rather large footprint when it comes to broadcasting. Most of it is unencrypted. Radio and television is one sided.
But if one considers internet , that it's no surprise that ET could in theory use it for their own purposes right now. Chatting with ET , ET on social media , ET sending bots to influence whatever they like well that sounds paranoia. But is it in this scenario really that farfetched ? Science has to at least consider the possibility but do they ? It's just assumed by those who believe that ET doesn't do that right ? Too paranoia , so lets replace ET with the Russians and it becomes Mainstream news. However you look at it the mechanism of control exists.


The Question ?

So that brings me to the question in this scenario .

'IF aliens exist what would be the IQ according to your own research'.

Would it be able to intervere or even control society from a far ?
And if so what kind of mechanisms do they use to alter behaviour in society.

This assumes whatever alien intelligence you speak of is even comparable to humans. This post reminds me of the way people anthropomorphize animals. People always want to assume aliens would somehow be like us, or comparable to us, or us at 'higher level' of development. Why would they be anything like us at all? Most of the life on our own planet is fairly different to us. Why would something from a totally different planet be comparable to us on any way?

Well sadly enough I think the people today are less able to access their intellectual potential than they were years ago. But it's my opinion that this is the result of an active force that is hindering and or destroying human development and I think ET is partly to blame.

In my opinion I think they are here showing us the ropes. The only way to get on their level is to take that possibility very serious.

Do you mean while researching/studying earth or from their own homeworld or other advanced regions in the multiuniverse
because if we as homosapiensapiens had our IQ (which is only a potential) tested during say going to the bathroom or opening a door, playing with a stream of ants on a hill, it would take far less activity then say a scientist working out a challenge mathematically.

Remember AI does come into play as well so your question could be changed to ask what is the IQ of the most advanced computer systems to date? And the results will not be stagnant if you look into it.

And my final suggestions are to look into advanced concepts of higher theororetical paradigms.

Bottomline is that it is not quantifiable to human understanding presently.

I think there are possibly more than one ET race or even extra - dimensional entities intervening on Earth.

I mean IQ is pretty obvious , and yes it anthropomorphing. Mere goal of this thread is for people to think further (with assumption that ET exists that why I said it's a scenario nothing more) than the light in the sky. The mere existance of ET shatters the reality we life in. So it's a cry to start datamining , make links and develop scenarios based on the research of the people here on ats....

If , as postulated by the OP , they are capable of building craft to travel between star systems that would indicate they are like us in that they know what the Galaxy is and choose to explore it.

Most life in the Galaxy would likely be like most life on Earth , intelligent in it's own way but incapable of understanding anything other than its own environment and their life within that environment but some , like us , would likely look at their own night sky and wonder what is out there and perhaps over time attempt to find out .... in my opinion.

If we exist then others like us will exist.

ok ... of course AI too (how could I forgot)... and in a way hmmm I would hook that AI up to internet. making nice servers that direct trafic into the blackholes of the internet... Sucking all the bigdata so to speak. And manipulating human society until it becomes less toxic than it's today.

Well according to scientists basic laws of science are the same everywhere. So that's a basis to communicate also math is universal. We could find reference in perlin noise or in the beauty of PI. I a way ET might be not that different to us....
