The problem is the math, man. In 2017 we were budgeted to spend $43.8 million on peace and security related programs in Mexico.

An additional $43.8 million is devoted to promoting peace and security, including counter-narcotics operations and combating transnational crime.

Direct US Aid to Mexico: How Much and What it Pays For

For the 2018-2019 year, we're budgeted to spend almost $79 million on aid to Mexico, including $49.66 million on peace and security related programs in Mexico.
www.foreignassistance.gov...

"Let's replace $50 million in taxpayer costs with $25 billion in taxpayer costs and pretend that it's a good deal for the taxpayers."

$50 million per year versus $25 billion wall good for 100 years.
The $50 million we give to Mexico each year is ineffective since it does not stop many illegals. 300,000 illegals still enter the USA each year. USA spends over $18,800 per illegal per year for a total of $5.5 billion per year just for those entering the USA. The illegals already here cost taxpayers $130 billion per year.

Odd that we have that "caravan" of illegals headed this way, through Mexico.

Our liberal friends on ATS will call this a "coincidence"

A wall would be nice about right now, TYVM.

Edited to add, a wall of USMC with a fire at will order would work in a pinch....

Sigh.

A wall won't make a bit of difference. Those "illegals" are refugees that intend to walk up to the front desk at the border and claim assylum. The US law, that Trump hates, requires them to be admitted and their case reviewed.

At that point, they'll be documented, not illegals.

Immigration is complicated!

In the movie, North America became uninhabitable due to cold but Mexico wouldn't let USA citizens into Mexico. If the Yellowstone Super Volcano ever explodes, the a USA migration could occur since the food supply would be disrupted for several years.

I guess you guys saw a different version.

No, the version I seen was mexico stopped us at the border and they and the southern nations blackmailed the US into forgiving their debt they owed the US in order to cross the border.
They accepted Americans.

When you have them bent over complete the operation. It's the American way. Coincidentally what Washington plans for its trading partner at the moment. It would suck going the other way though wouldn't it?
