a reply to: TinySickTears it should be clear Obama admin removed the question in 2010. The last one before that was 2000. Clear enough?

Obama said everyone counts.
Legal or not he meant it at least.

Here is a fact check by NPR on the citizenship question. It appears the claim in this thread is not accurate, but the truth is not straightforward, as is most anything the government touches...

The last question ‘are you a US citizen?’, answering no doesn’t necessarily make you an illegal immigrant so what’s the problem! Non-issue for me.

They don't care if they are from another country, they just want to make sure they are documented to ensure they have backed their collateral accounts. Each Birth Certificate and each Naturalization is used as stock to back the IOUs given to the federal reserve in exchange for Federal Reserve Notes. I take it you figured out by now that WE the People are the Collateral. That's why when military speaks of "collateral" damage whenever they bomb the enemy and injure civilians instead.

NPR fact check. You might as well use the Daily mail or national enquirer. Its been on all the LONG FORMS since the 50s except for one year in 2010. SO its been legal since then an dis still legal now.

And to make matters even CLEARER...

Counting American citizens on the 2020 Census, as President Donald Trump’s administration has announced they will do, is likely to shift power away from coastal states harboring large illegal alien populations and towards middle America.

And now Democrats and the Liberal Media are angry that AG Jeff Sessions is putting the citizenship question back in the census again.

I don't know why they keep fighting the will of the people, and think we'll just give them a pass.

In reality, the last time every American was asked this question was in 1950, except on long form versions

www.npr.org...

Personally, I really don't see what the big deal is being asked your citizenship. I'm def no right wing supporter, but I think the idea of push back on questions like this and on being asked to produce ID to vote is nuts.

Why would u care that anyone knows your citizenship, and how do you function in every day life without ID ? I get asked for mine several times a week just in everyday life.

There's a lot of whining from certain individuals, groups, and anti-American factions of the U.S. media, because the 2020 U.S. Census WILL ask about Citizenship-Immigration status.

What they don't tell you, is that the Citizenship question has been a part of EVERY U.S. CENSUS from 1850 to 2000. The Barack Hussein Obama administration REMOVED this question from the 2010 census. (fyi.. The U.S. population count/census is taken every 10 years.)

What is striking in the 2010 census form is the lack of citizenship or birthplace question.

It appears that this is the first census to omit this inquiry. Question 13 of the 2000 census form specifically asked the following.:
Is this person a CITIZEN of the United States?
-Yes, born in the United States—>Skip to 15a
-Yes, born in Puerto Rico, Guam, the U.S. Virgin Islands, or Northern Marianas
-Yes, born abroad of American parent or parents
-Yes, a U.S. citizen by naturalization
-No, not a citizen of the United States

The 2010 Census website explains the issue, but fails to answer why the form changed suddenly this year. While it may be Constitutional to count every person living in the United States, it should not preclude the Census Bureau from knowing what is the legal status of those living in the country.
SOURCE - From January 11, 2010: www.washingtontimes.com...

Just like today, the media was extremely liberal in 2010. They didn't report the sudden removal of the Citizenship question from the 2010 Census, because they knew why the Obama Administration did it. More Democratic voters, and potentially more taxpayer dollars to Blue states, like California. In addition, the Obama Administration could not be held accountable for allowing many millions of law-breaking non-citizens to enter and live in the United States, if Congress had no idea how many were here, and where they were living.

The Obama Administration thought Americans were too stupid to know they were being screwed by ObamaCare, and too dumb to understand the significance of removing the citizenship question from the 2010 U.S. census. To Obama's dismay, Americans proved him wrong, and voted most Democrats out of office, all over the country, from 2010 thru 2016.

Thanks to the Donald Trump Administration, the 2020 U.S. Census will return to tradition, and ask about citizenship, like it did from 1850 to 2000.

What about eVerify?

Why not use it to stop illegals from working?

Somehow, they're able to get Government benefits like food stamps and insurance. If illegals can pilfer the government, that means employers aren't being monitored too closely.

As someone who was a Case Manager, determining eligibility for these benefits, I can tell you have no idea what you're talking about. But I'm sure you were just about to post a source to your claim.

Why don’t you tell us, as a former “Case Manager”, how you determined the eligibility for an illegal to get ANY government benefits?

and also how many people got benefits without ID? Cause #democrats are bleating that millions would be disenfranchised if ID were required to vote.

In Canada, I was asked to show my id at a CITY COUNCIL election just last week, we need ID every time we go to vote, for anything.

Well I think those sanctuary cities in America are definitely not going to like the 2020 census. When they have no political use for the illegal immigrants, I wonder if they will still "care"?

Well of course.

Why should the Census count folks that don't belong here?

Do you think an illegal will admit to being illegal or claim to be a citizen. The accuracy may not be all that high.

Probably lie.

But then they can be prosecuted and prioritized to be quickly returned home to where they belong/came from (aka not here)

Lol. So you're gonna force every lil mom and pop restaurant to suddenly get verify going to stop Simone from making $5/hr washing dishes?

Yes because if they we're legal they would make $10 and their pimp nothing.
Better for themselves don't you think

Being legal isn't much to ask for. It isn't unreasonable or burdensome

Even non citizens can get a work visa or student visa. Those who so not choose to break our law but far more important ly they assault our sovereign border

We do not have an open border but becoming legal would help them much more

This morning, the Supreme Court heard arguments regarding adding the "Are you a U.S. Citizen?" question to the 2020 Census.

The justices appear to be siding in favor of the Trump Administration, to allow that question to be added.

A "compromised" Justice Roberts recently sided with Liberals, and disallowed the "citizenship" question on the upcoming 2020 census.

But tonight, there was an urgent teleconference between the Trump Admin Commerce/DOJ, and a Maryland Federal Judge.

You learn a lot by reading the comments from loyalists, at the bottom of CTH articles. But after doing so, I'm still not sure where things stand on this issue.
