This is pretty sweet - I wonder how accurate it is
I'm assuming it's accurate just because I can't see why they would design their instruments to give inaccurate data. I'm pretty sure they've got the technology all worked out.

It crashed harmlessly in Australia .

Lies! It littered and got hit with a fine!

At least it finally got paid in full...30 fricken years later!

From the main road along the waterfront in Esperance, a small blue and yellow sign hung on the side of the building is all that denotes it as a "museum," and a larger hanging billboard makes note of the main attraction inside: "In 1979, a spaceship crashed over Esperance. We fined them $400 for littering." A stamp next to it reads, "PAID IN FULL."

It's true. The local government slapped NASA with a comical $400 bill for the cleanup, though the U.S. space agency never officially paid up. However, on the 30th anniversary of the crash in 2009, a radio host for Highway Radio in California and Nevada used his program to raise the funds and put a formal end to the complaint. The paycheck now hangs above the remains.

Wait, so you're saying NASA left behind a bunch of littered material!? And they weren't accountable!? And they let US citizens foot the bill!? Not possible. Let me just pull up some facts on NA-- Oh.... Oh God... I retract everything I said previously.

Changes in the atmospheric drag - the atmosphere isn't uniform across the globe.

eta: also solar stuff too come to think of it, like the solar wind.

But I ain't no expert.

Nor is the gravity. There are slight variations in the Earth's magnetic field depending on the density of the continent rocks, mountains, depth of ocean beds. Some areas seem to become meteorite magnets.

I'm interested in the accountability should any of it kills any one or damages property.

These old mission patches from the movie Hackers are going to be worthless now.

Aaugh! A few weeks ago it was estimated to hit Michigan...last I heard it is now more east in Pennsylvania. Honestly, it must be shooting for NYC or boringly land out in the Atlantic.

Truly, I was hoping it would total my house. Would get 3x current sale value from insurance and retirement would be sweeeeet!

A piece of Space Lab hit and killed a jackrabbit when it crashed in Australia. As long as you're faster than a jackrabbit you should be okay.

It should start making a rapid descent at around 99 miles or so.

Equally as many blaming Obama or Crooked Hilary and her basket of deplorables.

Mostly Obama because it launched during his presidency.

Thanks for that.

Question: Anyone know why is it GAINING altitude?

EDIT TO ADD:
Its going down now.

Maybe it's orbit is not a perfect circle, even a slight oval shape will cause the altitude to go up and down
