Started this thread to discuss the game, advice, strategies, best jobs, quests, opinions on the Windows version.

I'm at the beginning and chose the Bushi job for Vaan. I thought a katana tank sounded cool and I read it's a job that would benefit from the Genji gloves later.

The game looks great on Windows. I originally played most of it on the PS2 back in the day. Striking difference obviously.
I also like the new license board based on jobs. Much more focused.

Anyhow is anyone else playing this now or has played it on a PC?

I been playing FF since the very first one on NES
FF XII has exceeded all my expectations for an FF game
The question is , will you be getting FF XV ?
From what I see , I may not...

ETA - I chose the good old fashioned White Mage.

edit on 3/20/18 by Gothmog because: (no reason given)

I too have played all FF games.
The most recent has been FF15.

Its a good game, when you can get past the conversations between the 4 dudes while their out driving around.
Their dialog is... questionable.

The fights are good.
The amount of story available and side quests will easily provide 200+ hours with the basic game.
Honestly I havent touched the game since the dlcs were released.

The 4 hour long dungeon crawls with 1 save got stressful fast.

I just complete ff15 on PC.
I had issues with it but overall I really enjoyed it.
I completed the whole game except for the Pitioss dungeon.
My fishing was left at rank 7 and I did not catch every fish, nor did I get every recipe.

I'm really hoping the next FF will be turn based.

THe pitioss dungeon was fun at first...but after about 2 days of trying to make the same stupid set of jumps at the 3rd POI...

After about 5 days of being in that hell of a dungeon, I finally made it out.
It was a rewarding feeling completing it.
Took a lot longer than expected.

I got turned off by the long dungeons with very minimal save points.
I remember fighting my way down for 2 hours trying to get to the save point.

Fishing, you say? Hmm... I had written this game off (actually haven't touched a new FF game since the Barbie Dress up Simulator abomination that was X-2... had finished every FF game prior to that disappointment.) I didn't know XV had fishing, though. This changes everything.

It has great fishing. You can tell the developers spent some love on it.
My only gripe is there are designated fishing spots around bodies of water.

Interesting. I've always enjoyed RPGs with decent fishing minigames. Harvest Moon, Fable, Stardew Valley, all games that were better with fishing. Heck, I've been hoping Bethesda would include fishing in their next Elder Scrolls game.

I've been dreaming of fishing being added to Elder Scrolls games for years.
And I agree. Every game is better with fishing IMO.

The Final Fantasy series has always been able to renew itself with each episode by proposing fascinating new worlds but also innovative combat systems it is always a pleasure to play it
