Like how socialism is really sharing and caring and will provide a wonderful, awesome first world rich standard of living for everyone it touches?

Do you know why we don't get very many illegal immigrants from Norway?

That would explain their gung-ho attitude toward people shooting at each other, they'll be nowhere near the bloodbath.

Don't worry about us, stay focused.

Maybe nothing yet, but I believe things will be coming soon that may warrant it.

First it will begin by taking your automatic weapons.

You can forget that step, because I can't afford the tax stamp.
And I also feel that high an expense to keep an M4 fed and in
fresh parts doesn't jive with my primary ... I only need one
round per capita or I'm wasting it.

It's finally kind of hilarious that somebody that high up in the
pecking order is advocating for insurrection against his own
setup--- and he, with a high percentage of his constituents,
can't even define an assault weapon.

Exactly, I'm thinking about practicing my aim on my dog. It's for the greater good, he would want it this way.

I would do the same but I fed them both to a turtle.

I am well aware you don't think highly of me and that doesn't bother me.

The problem I have with globalization is the attempt to make the governance pools ever larger and more dilute. There are scant protections for the individual in it.

You may feel you will be well protected, but just wait until the moment when the group protection and perceived group good goes against what would actually be best for you in your personal situation and you get sacrificed for the mythical greater good. At the point, the "good" will indeed by mythical because there is no good for you. And in such a system, make no mistake, you will be sacrificed unto death because bureaucrats in some city far away, or corporacrats if you prefer, will NOT care about you at all.

That's why I prefer individual liberty, so that I have at least the chance to pursue my good when the common (or greater) good doesn't lead me there.

A further irony, the sides have switched. Those who were preparing to defend themselves from the federal government under Obama are now preparing to defend that same federal government... or at least the parts of it that Trump can control.

That is some serious irony.

Dont leave out the caveat of how the Democrat Team also switched in the very same ways.

Then there's the detail where Obama didn't follow the Constitution any more than any other POTUS ever, but now since people dont like Trump (please list how he's violated it more than Obama did) NOW all the sudden its warranted course of action.

Meanwhile the "Congress" (or rather the Two Party's combined) are just as guilty as anybody in however much an armed insurrection is warranted (a scary conversation that may be if we were all going to be honest and lay out all the details).

Serious irony indeed for any party official types from either Party to speak of such thing even if only under their breath.

I am talking those who think we need to become a socialist nation and those who prefer the older way of individual reliance and liberty.

Has it ever occurred to you that the division is between those who understand the complexities of a globally connected society in the twenty first century, and those who cling to a vision of the mythic past?

Globally connected? Like with Russia or something?!

Shall we repeat the past?

I hope you at least seasoned and cooked them before feeding them to the turtle.

And I find it disturbing that so many people are taking his sarcasm seriously. Incidentally, the "gun opponents don't understand guns so their opinion is invalid" is a fallacy. Would you want a doctor to refuse to treat your broken nose because you called it a "bone" rather than "cartilage?"

For reasons far more complex than just socialism. They are a small country with a fairly homogenous population and culture very rich natural resources they aren't shy about exploiting and using to finance their system, etc.

Lots of things that make them and their situation unique vis a vis the US.

But if you love Norway, feel free to immigrate. No one stops you although they may not take you.

I strongly feel you should be free to seek your personal happiness. Make no mistake. I WANT you to be happy ... just not at the expense of my liberty and happiness. You don't have that right.

Oh come now! Tons of people took Trump seriously on everything he said whether they should have or not and continue to. You don't get to cry foul on this.

Did you at least do it in front of a bunch of kids? It's important to teach them the lessons of how cruel nature can be. If not, that was a wasted opportunity.

Of course, it was at my new pizza franchise. Then we fed them to the turtles too. Hail Gan!

Yes. With Russia. With Britain. With China. With India. With every other nation on Earth, with all of its oceans, polar icecaps... everything, everywhere. When the Constitution was written, this was not possible:

www.antarctica.gov.au...

And that's just here on Earth. We have had a small population of humans living off-world for decades. And that population will be growing.

Shall we repeat the past?

I am arguing we need to move on from the past. What are you arguing?

Its more humane if you drown them before feeding them to the turtles. Then our ATS thread about it will only be 14 pages instead of 39.

Government and the Bureaucracy=deadwood.
Politicians=exceptionally deadwood.

The lay-abouts gaming the system are tolerable deadwood, but with no system to game they would either get with the program or be left to die out on their own. Those that can’t be productive for legitimate reasons would be taken care of as always. Big differentiation between actual charity and handouts.

Many a kindly tramp was given a meal in the Great Depression just for doing some simple chores. The roving thieves were handled quite differently, generally with buckshot.
