No, I was never a Mod, and have never been invited to be a Mod or expressed interest in doing that.

Frankly my management style would not suit here at that level at all, but I truly believe some Mods here are the creme de la creme of Mods anywhere.

I'm more of a Rocker.

I was the member team leader on DISC, and contributed to the improvement of this site, until SkepticOverlord was upset by my "confusing behavior" when I called him on his avatar of the day, a gay boy Roman having his testicles squeezed, where his Arnie avatars would have been expressing his important announcement better. Some people thought that was the funniest thing they had read on the internet, but sometimes in the stress of whatever situation people find themselves in, they end up with an involuntary humorectomy.

There has been much water under the bridge since then, and the site has grown in many areas and remained static in others.

I hate these "mod" threads...

Wow! I'm flattered for the nominations as it is quite a shock. This is probably because I often feel like you all have a secret forum room where you throw darts at my picture.

Strangely enough, I am often mistaken for a mod and I have no idea why. Last time was my most recent adoptee about a week ago, who started asking me what it was like to be an all big and in-charge mod. Then I told him to zip it, put the saddle on his back and rode him around the room. JK, rogger26!

Perhaps it is because my 'side-bar' says Member is now online from 8 to 16 hours a day. I'm scared to leave the house. *shiver* There's crazies out there!

There are a few members that I can't believe aren't mods yet basicly because they have been around for so long.

Most of the long timers on ATS dont want modship to be honest, illmatic was an excellent member, he turned it down so many times. It does change you to be honest.

The last one I think applies Seekerof. You can no longer post as you wish. Personally I find that taking this on has put handcuffs on me at times. Especially when BS comes into play. Representing the staff and the site, I am no longer as free to deal with anyone as freely as before. Remember those days. Must have driven the mods at the time nuts, "Christ, intrepids at it again".

Polls are a bad idea, people won't vote for who would be a good mod, they would vote for someone who they like.

Thus we wouldn't get the best possible mod from the list.

I don't think that would fly. Cliques could develope, might be the end of ATS. I don't speak for SO, just my 2 cents.
