That's my point. SatansPride made the asinine statement that martial law can only be declared during a state of military conflict with a supposed foreign adversary. That's why I said he/she spoke ignorance. Declared or not, regional martial law has been invoked numerous times over the years. During natural disasters, even during civil unrest the police and National Guard have been called in numerous times to control situations. Think LA riots, St. Louis etc.

As previously stated, the further away from anything incorporated the better. Don't forget the Supreme Court has determined that corporations have the same rights as individual citizens. That is totally asinine.

PS: They also confiscated firearms and disarmed law abiding citizens.

Ummm... So we shouldn't take threats like this seriously until they actually act on those threats? I don't think that's how it works, or at least that's not how it should work.

Imagine, throwing a martial law, and no one came? Kinda embarrassing, I'd think.

I don't know why but I can't stop laughing at that lol.

I agree that a lot of people are just talk when it comes to this stuff. But I also think they should be swiftly reminded of the ramifications of what they're proposing.

As a side note, I don't understand why so many people who suggest stuff like this always use the Japanese internment camps as examples. The Civil Liberties Act of 1988 literally awarded reparations to the survivors and families of the people imprisoned at those camps. The articles I'm finding say that around $20,000 was paid to more than 82,000 people at a cost of more than $1.6 billion (like here). And that was signed into law under a Democratic Congress and a Republican President (Reagan).

So I'm wondering if they're thinking this through. The lawsuits and financial costs of similar internment camps will cost far more than that now and that's just for the internment camps. Stripping people of their rights to a court of law in favor of tribunals will likely warrant much bigger financial rewards. And I haven't even touched on the violent resistance that would surely come if they tried to pull this off.

Martial law was declared by the mayor who used the police to enforce curfews and control looting.

www.jurist.org...

How about that time, during Obama, it happened in Boston. Mofo militarized cops so many of them there was hardly any room for them in the houses and sidewalks they stood around like dooshes in the street.

I know the OP was not serious but how horrible would it be for America or the world to have Trump as permanent leader of the USA? A complete moron running America for years...Yep America and the world for that matter would not survive long. If it survives this term, thank the gods. LOL

I remember when the right was saying just imagine if a woman ruled, there would be catfights..etc, well it came true but Trump is the woman. Sensitive lil turd, always complaining about negative press, hurt feelings and is easily triggered when someone bad mouths him. LOL

Some just think that their way of thinking is the only way, and if you don't, apparently.. you should be forcibly detained, arrested, thrown into a camp.. because those sort of totalitarian governments always work out so well.

I think the only people who need purging are the ones with the mindset of the OP, and by purging I mean a stint in the mental institution with sedatives.

The OP went full retard, you never go full retard.

Dude, he's so far beyond that.

The sad part is most of the Trump supporters here would actually be much happier living in Russia with papa Putin as their god.

I know, right?

Its baffling.

THE DEEP STATE DOESN"T CARE IF YOU ARE A DEM OR REPUBLICAN, THEY MAKE SURE BOTH STAY WITHIN THE LINES THEY'VE BEEN DRAWING SINCE BEFORE OPERATION PAPERCLIP.

THE MEDIA SPREADS HATE AND FEAR TO BOTH SIDES SO WE GET DIVIDED LIKE A BROKEN COOKIE.

THE OLIGARCHS (oh sorry, the captains of industry) RAKE IN THE CASH WHILE WE TOIL IN THEIR WARS AND OUR FULL TIME JOBS AND WHEN WE HAVE TIME WE ARGUE ABOUT ABORTION/MAKING CAKES FOR HOMOSEXUALS/PORN STAR AFFAIRS/RUSSIA/GUN CONTROL/RACISM/HOW MANY DAYS OF GOLF THE PRESIDENT PLAYS/THE LEGITIMACY OF A BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Its pretty much guaranteed that they will never outlaw abortion because the support for it is simply not there and would be political suicide for any republican to actually force the issue. Same with taking everyones gun away. Dems and Cons know this and have to put on quite a show to cater to their base without actually doing anything about it.

They are wedge issues through and through.

It would be really nice if we could see that we both get played and skip to the next part of the movie.

The extreme left is no worse than the extreme right. However, the extreme right in pretty much the Republican Party in toto and they control Capitol Hill. How do you propose removing them? The fact is, both parties of our de facto two party system are corrupt and serve the interests of the wealthy. Progressives are the future, if America is to have a future at all. And if you are not one of the wealthy but are a staunch Republican, you really need to ask yourself what that party does for you. The Republican Party does not care about your interests at all. They brilliantly use emotional hot buttons like abortion and gun rights to get regular joe on board. And it works, sadly. Democrats are a bit better for the people, but not by much.
