Great illustration of the naked hypocrisy of the Trump followers.

Of course, they’ll lie to themselves and us with justifications

Well, I would caveat a little, I'm sure there are some Trump followers who find him a bit more than disturbing a deal of the time, it is a lot to do with the FOX very condescending attitude of, 'you must believe us or perish' Evangelical style..manner. I'm sure the kids find it all a bit scary.

It's kind of funny that you brought an Evangelical style, manner up when it comes to trying to describe what you think is someone conservative. You know, somewhat mocking anyone who has faith in something.

To the left and progressives, the government is their god. Want to talk about a cult following, there you go.

Now, there is a simple reason why that happens, from Hegel. One of the first things you need to do is separate a population from any kind of religious belief, because you need the government you are building to become their church, their god, their belief system. Which is why the Hegelian offshoots (progressivism, socialism, communism) all need to be free of any type of christian religion.

If you want a real condescending attitude, try CNN. MSNBC, ABC, etc. It is quite literally their side and that is it. Any thoughts that are not liberal are demeaned, taunted, ridiculed.

As someone in the middle, I notice with conservatives that it is OK with them if I think a certain way. To each their own, they seem to be.

Liberals? Christ wept, you would think that they are the Borg. Assimilate or die.

So before you throw someone under the bus for not believing like you do, please remember the political side of this country that has to wear vagina hats, scream at the sky, riot, pillage, needs therapy crayons and ponys to deal with an election result is not really being looked at favorably by the portion of Americans that actually pay the bills. The Independents.

Did Obama have any demands for North Korea, such as total cessation of work on their nuclear weapon program,

Neither Obama nor Trump made any preconditions when both initially stated openess to meeting the dictators. Of course with both of them it changed over time at the start of their terms.

Preconditions meant that in order for talks to happen, North Korea had to agree that the purpose was the complete denuclearization of North Korea.

"During the campaign and early in his term Obama was very open to talks without preconditions," DeThomas said.

For Trump, the picture is murkier.

When Trump tweeted that he would meet with Kim Jong Un, North Korea had not taken any steps toward denuclearization. He said they had "talked" about it.

www.politifact.com...

before he would meet with the Nork dictator when Hannitty made the statement on him? Does President Trump? Was there any military muscle (read: threats of action)

Oh lord no. Obama didn't wave his stick around on Twitter like Trump did so it's different! Omg.

No bud, you're light on excuses.

What's sad is that this is merely the right's view of the left. Not the actual view of the left. It's been so shoved down your throats by right wing media that you all constantly are on here telling those on the left what they believe and what they think without ever actually asking anyone on the left (or not listening). Either that or you (or right-wing media) uses some anecdotal one-off to paint the left as ridiculous as possible and eschews any rational thought because you are so convinced that the left are marked by the devil.

The left populous doesn't want to have a big government. Doesn't worship government in the slightest. But the left does view the government as a necessary tool to keep a stable society (as did our forefathers, and many countries before them). Mainly these days government is viewed by the left as the only way for the population to have any say in the runaway corporatocracy. Sadly the corporate elite own a good portion of the government as well, but at least we can kind of have some representation there (where we have none in the corporate sector). The left sees that as a way to keep the corporatocracy in check. And yes, also to keep the peace, and to have a balance of power. Can spending be too much? Can government be wasteful? Of course. No one on the left would deny that.

Oh and for sure, religion is a stain on humanity and a sad mark of need to follow, subjugate, & believe in crazy unprovable stories (the first real conspiracy), but not because it needs a replacement.

ps - There isn't a whole lot of government worship going on from the left (even during Obama as most of the left populous was bummed about how center-right he drifted). These days, all I see is the right fawning over Trump. Who loves government again? Who loves spending again? Who loves to excuse law bending and treason? After all, Reagan is still a darling of the right.

Are you comparing apples to apples or are you comparing an apple to an orange and claiming they are equal because both of them go in a fruit salad?

Naw , Obama bribed them . And all the money failed to deter them.
Time for some Bruce Willis style negotiations from the movie "The Fifth Element"

Red Herring

Description: Attempting to redirect the argument to another issue to which the person doing the redirecting can better respond. While it is similar to the avoiding the issue fallacy, the red herring is a deliberate diversion of attention with the intention of trying to abandon the original argument.

Proving the point that your mind is made up about the left and don't care what they actually believe? Noted.
I'm sure your pals on the right (you included) know us better than we do. Story of ATS these days.

Salvaging Obama's reputation is like trying to reconstruct a prime rib dinner from the septic tank.

Yeah, I'm definitely not hungry now.

There's a YUGE difference in Obama doing a meeting like that, and Trump doing doing it. Obama was a a Beta male candy-ass, Donald Trump, my friend, is NOT.

It's like comparing Neville Chamberlain, and Winston Churchill. With Chamberlain you get appeasement, but with Churchill you get action.

See? Very simple. Alpha and Beta.
