The problem is finding one that's not beholden to deep state forces (Think CIA.) Kennedy was backstabbed by his own in Vietnam who refused to follow his commands and constantly worked against him. Therein lay much of our problems since the National Security Act of 1947.

Does it not occur to most that no matter which party is in office, we have a "foreign policy" that never seems to change? If you haven't considered that then think deeply about it.

Who are these behind the scenes cats making such empire-building decisions that transcend generations?

When President Trump meets with various leaders, he seems to do pretty good on his own. Maybe for the moment it's best this way. Maybe he and Kim will come away with the apparent "working" respect that Xi and The Donald have for each other.

The world stage is on the move, things are happening fast, could this end the 'state of war' that we technically have endured these last 50 years ? What meaningful suggestions would you offer President Trump were you able that He might use when He meets Kim Jong Un to achieve success ? And how would you measure success ?

Chances are...

If Kim is successful in some sort of negotiation that is favorable to NK he will tell his country that the US bowed before the might of the god-king Kim. If he is unsuccessful at any sort of negotiation, he will say that the US wants to kill and eat all of the citizens of NK, and that only he, the fearless god-king can save NK.

Spin is everything. There will be no face saving in the eyes of the NK citizens. In the eyes of the world, maybe.

As for advice for Trump: Spend an entire day listening...don't open your mouth, simply listen to what is said, nod a few times, look interested, look disappointed, whisper something to your aides, drink some water and don't say anything. Later, after the event confer with your best Asian advisors, and anyone else that knows anything about political negotiation (preferably Eastern European trained.) And then the next meeting, start selling your side.

American negotiation tactics are quite typical and predictable. Throw Kim off by being exactly the opposite of what he expects.

Success is measured by what the US demands and which demands are met. But without a clear understanding of what the other side wants to negotiate, there is no measuring stick.

My prediction is that Trump agrees to export wheat and foodstuffs to NK and gets absolutely nothing in return.

Mean while at CNN:

“Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul the unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics is the first task of the statesmanship of the day.”— Theodore Roosevelt, 26th President of the United States

"Governments do not govern, but merely control the machinery of government, being themselves controlled by the hidden hand." ~ Benjamin Disraeli; Prime Minister of England

"Some of the biggest men in the United States, in the fields of commerce and manufacture, are afraid of something. They know that there is a power somewhere so organized, so subtle, so watchful, so interlocked, so complete, so pervasive, that they had better not speak above their breath when they speak in condemnation of it." ~ Woodrow Wilson

Past presidents of the United States and other high profile political leaders have repeatedly issued warnings over the last 214 years that the U.S. government is under the control of an “invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people.”

According to six of our former presidents, one vice-president, and a myriad of other high profile political leaders, an invisible government that is “incredibly evil in intent” has been in control of the U.S. government “ever since the days of Andrew Jackson” (since at least 1836). They “virtually run the United States government for their own selfish purposes. They practically control both parties…

I would suggest that he not care what other humans say or think, but only care about how he can use his position of power granted to him by God to make this nation more like the kingdom of Christ with the Bible as our one and only true constitution.

That would be the least Christian thing anyone has ever done in the history of the United States.

You do understand that forcing everyone to live under Christian derived law, and trying to bring people to Christ by operation of government power, would be entirely against the will of Christ? I mean for crying out loud sir, you might as well cast people directly down to meet the arch enemy, for all your ideal will bring glory to Christ!
