Well that is unfortunate. No facts, no conversation, you just want what you want and all else be damned?

That is the definition of immaturity. That is what I’m pointing out.

Ummm...facts...?

The thread premise was about supposition...conjecture...and opinion...I was in fact having a conversation with another member...and attempting to lighten the conversation while doing so...

If being mature means exemplifying...feeding into...and continuing the divide that's so prevalent in society...then I want no part of it...
If on the other hand...one backs away from an overly serious attitude and realizes that humor can be a bridge across some of these divides...then I for one don't fear taking those steps...

These conversations about weapons have been re-hashed ad nauseam so much here on ATS that they have lost any real meaning...We have those that are anti...and those that are pro...which in my opinion boils down to...those that are anti constitution...and those that are pro...

No minds are ever changed...no real conversation is ever in the offing...only entrenched opinions talking past each other...

Sure...I can be serious...but in the greater scheme of things it matters not a whit...no one cares...trust me...my thread history is a study in trying to bridge difference and extend hands and friendship...

No one gives a damn...so don't even begin to lecture me on maturity...
I've had to fall a long way from grace to end up here...so back the eff off and allow me some space amongst the greater herd...

Elbows aside the usual suspects to make room at the trough...

This aired well over 40 years ago on the season 3 premier and its pretty amazing that we are still doing the same song and dance.

He discusses terrorist and "skyjackings" saying just arm the passengers. sound familiar? Same arguments almost 50 years later.

We are all a bunch of effing morons. Round and round we go..

Well, I'm old enough to remember the tail end of those days and I think most people had more common sense back then than the majority of people today. They had more real life experience instead of thinking they know everything because they read all kinds of garbage on the internet.

Make what you can out of that. If people are more clueless now than they ever were, I wouldn't expect more common sense out of them.

This is pretty much why I think the pro-gun crowd, needs to calm down. Nothing ever really changes, so, just, like, relax, man.

I think you are misusing commas for longer pauses when instead "..." is more effective.

So rewritten it would be:
"Nothing ever really changes, so... just... like... relax... man."

This was a little before my time but I remember reading Carroll O'Connor had to have a police escort to the studio at times because he received death threats for playing the bigot Archie Bunker. Apparently people didn't realize this was satire and thought all the black, Hispanic, and female actors who participated in this hate-filled series were held at gunpoint and forced to act alongside him.

Well, that's to be expected but my guess would be that those people were just the dummies of the world who have always been there. I don't think they could make a new TV series like that now because millions of people would be in the streets acting like morons.

They could never remake that show in today's climate.. There was some rumblings of putting together a new show but I haven't heard anything about it in a while.. I have a fondness for Archie bunker he has always reminded me of my maternal grandfather..a heart of gold with a rough exterior..

The Roseanne barr show is rebooting at the end of this month..That should be interesting to watch unfold..

I don't think it's gonna go past two seasons though..Supposedly her character and most of her on show "household" are Trump supporters..

I think it will be highly pro lgbt while also pro middle 'murica .The dichotomy will probably play a major role in the plotlines of the episodes..

As a guilty.. party...in the use.. of the dramatic .... pauses..
I don't, think, it really matters, at the end , of the day, as long as,the reader, is able to, acknowledge the epicness,of the Bill Shatner effect...

How did you feel about what Archie said?
You gonna get him a beer and a cigar... or are you gonna Give the "terlit" two flushes and a raspberry?

Yeah. I remember hearing something about Roseanne supporting Trump but had forgotten about it. I did hear the show was coming back recently. If she's still pro-Trump that's gonna probably not fly too well. LOL

Funnily enough, I had always assumed that she was very liberal. The thing about Roseanne is she likes to piss people off I think. She doesn't much care how.

I don't presume to know her politics but she has always come across as more libertarian than liberal In My Opinion..
So it would fit she's pro choice, pro lbgt, and pro legalization..these are all personal choice issues.. but she also comes across as a fiscal conservative and an isolationist..While it's not politically correct or socially acceptable to say it I think the silent majority of republicans feel this way..

Like I said it will be interesting to see what the show comes up with concerning content and how it is received..

I also consider myself a fiscal conservative and libertarian..

While I don't think we need to over promote the lbgt agenda like we do here in American media. I don't have a problem with other people loving who they want to, how they want to.. again to me it all boils down to personal freedom..

Although I like to think I'm not batsnip crazy like Roseanne...

I mean..I'd never marry Tom Arnold..

It's funny, in a single post they manage to show their condescension and their complete lack of self awareness.
