I see that the Leader of the free world is meeting with the top progressive on the planet, Kim Jong Un. The Democrats are concerned for Kims safety and upset that Trump might hurt Kims feelings by bullying him.
progressives aren't communists, sorry, nor totalitarian. Real progressives believe in human rights, good governance, etc.

They fooled you
Even though I've been a progressive for ten years and work with such people, sure... But go ahead and believe Fox News who calls all liberals and sjws "progressives."

Human rights? Just so long as the ‘humans’ aren’t white males.
That's a problem with modern identity politics. But that isn't a focus for all progressives, especially historically. I'm a progressive, and I would agree with your criticism.

Sorry but I don't believe in political religion.

Right wingers don't have a monopoly on ideas, good or bad.

If only both Dems (fake liberal party) AND Reps (fake conservative party) were in trouble, it'd mean we might just be on a path of ACTUAL change in this city state.

We have two ready made parties already...3 actually. Green Party for Liberals, Libertarian and Constitution party for Conservatives. All three are really where we should be putting our votes instead of the two party crooks we have in office now.

And really there are other choices too, but these three have the biggest foothold and base already. It would be really easy to grow these parties. In Europe, yes they do somethings right, Some countries have 6-12 Major parties.

The problem is....while these parties' IDEAS are good....the CANDIDATES they field, are just plain UNELECTABLE nutjobs.

If the democrats take the midterms,

We will see major gun control legislation.

I think they want that more than impeachment.

Either way it will cost them in 2020.

Depends...

On how far reaching the gun control is, and on the candidate the Dems can put against Trump.

And of course, assuming Mueller isn't fired anytime soon. (or ends up committing suicide by shooting himself in the back of the head)....

I mean, basically, just don't pick a corrupt traitor, and they got a decent shot against him....lol.

Example: how dare Republicans give tax cuts to the working people in my district. Elect me and I will turn things around!

Dems were actually stupid enough to try gun grabbing during a crucial midterm election year. Never let a good crisis go to waste, right? They did this to themselves.

Exactly what democratic policy attacks religious faiths? - Attacks on Christianity

Exactly which policy reflects radical feminism? - The Overt Propaganda Social Programming of Women to Despise Men by Radical Organizations .

Exactly which policy debases American males? - Anything a Woman can Think of .

Im not disparaging you, but the Republicans have never really been for "ecological sanity" nor limited military. Quite the opposite.

No, you're not disparaging me; you're verifying me. I disagree with many Republican policies on these points. But I also do not believe the Democrats offer economic sanity - shutting down the economy over a harmless gas that is essential for life itself is not my definition of sanity.

As to the military, well, what can I say? The policies that pulled troops out of Iraq too soon too fast and with advance notice to our enemies gave us ISIS. The optimal solution would have been to never start that mess, but we don't have the ability to alter history yet. Once there, we should have won and come home in victory, rather than just turn and walk out on a task half-finished. Walking away is sometimes the fastest way to get shot in the back.

Now Trump has shown what proper use of the military can do. After decades of impotent attempts to bribe, beg, and coddle North Korea, we now have a meeting between the two leaders coming up and a promise to temporarily halt the missile tests. Not a final solution, but more progress in a single year than in the 20 years prior. A little show of force at the proper time, along with a credible threat to use it, can often be more effective than the actual use of force.

At the same time, I think that the dem party and sjws are falsely being conflated with the word progressive, and I think the right wing did that.

The problem is that both sides are confusing the argument with labels.

If I am writing out a post of any length, and in that post I wish to specify the group of officials who are primarily in the Democratic Party, and who regularly promote legislation that is ineffective, inefficient, wasteful, expensive, and contrary to reasoned judgement, it becomes next to impossible to write that post without using some form of group identifier. But which one to use? Conservative, alt-right, liberal, progressive, Democrat, Republican, DINO, RINO... there's an almost endless list of these labels to choose from and not a single one of them will exactly describe more than a single individual. The vast majority of labels don't even have a set definition, so even if one did accurately describe a group according to my definition, it might not according to your definition.

So what do we do? Not talk these issues out, for fear we might use the wrong label?

Posting a reply to your stupid comment out of obligation. You are no luminary. You are a conservative that has no thoughts of your own. No ideas. No forward thinking. You tell others to get a platform, but what the # is your platform? Keep the 'two party' (One) system and pretend you're free? Pretend your dear leader gives a fraction of a # about you? Lol.

What the # do you stand for? What is the republican 'platform' except racism, pretending to be the 'tough guy' (small dick complex), fear (let me have my guns, cuz that's the only way I can defend myself!!), and twisting the words of the founding fathers to fit their retarded ideology? Please enlighten me, Mr. Illiminary.

Conservative arguments are ridiculous and retarded, just like the imps that propagate them.

Surely most everyone knows by now both parties are very corrupt. Republicans have moved alt-right. Democrats have moved moderately conservative. Nobody represents the working class, and both parties are handing everything to the one percent. The times they are a changing though. People are aware of what is going on; their anger has yet to reach a tipping point. But it will. Things might change if enough progressives can shoehorn their way into the Democratic party, but the corporate Democrats are loathe to give up power and money. And the Republicans, not looking good. Done, son.

I really think "statist" is a better label for what many folks currently call "liberals" and "progressives."

Its been a relatively slow transformation over the past decade, so its a bit easy to conflated.

I, for one, feel its all part of a much larger picture, namely what Aquino called "MindWar." However, I suspect that will only become clear over time. For better or worse...

Personally, I am all for things like decentralization and making terms like "basic needs" more fluid and relevant based on our tools and technology. I feel that our technological advancement and innovation greatly changes the conversation on what is, or is not, a strategy that benefits a nation. When the benefits of a given policy outweighs the net cost of its inclusion, it should be strongly considered and discussed beyond the basics of food, water, and shelter.

In fact, I feel framing it in this way might be the only way to prepare for the upcoming conflict between culture and technology.
