No one knows what is going on in Trump’s mind—his thoughts, his desires, his wishes, his motivations—but Trump. Yet commentators, pundits, and febrile journalists often pretend they know his very soul. The question is, are they correct? or are they engaging in projection, defending themselves against the characteristics they find unacceptable in themselves, by attributing them to Trump?

One clip suffices to explain the point. Listen briefly to Tony Schwartz, ghost writer for Art of the Deal, and Michael D’Antonio, author of The Truth About Trump, imply they have access to Trump’s inner thoughts, motivations, wishes, desires, needs, and wants, and talking about them as if they were privy. Schwartz speculates without evidence that Trump is “awed and afraid of black people”, that Trump “wished he could be an athlete like they were”, whenever “he felt fear [of black people], he felt aggression [towards them]”, and always had a “need to put them down”.

Of course, neither commentators offer a shred of evidence, nor even an argument, to support anything they claim. Then what are they referring to?

Maybe their own feelings? their own thoughts?

When Donald Trump posed the infamous, yet accurate question regarding sh#thole countries, he was immediately panned as racist. The furor was immediate, and the president had to go on immediate defence against world-wide condemnation. Even after explaining that it was the exact opposite—that he is not a racist, even going so far as to tell the press “I am the least racist person you have ever interviewed”, in typical Trumpian fashion—he was no less met with denunciation.

Trump did clarify his remarks, mentioning that he “never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled country.” The races of the people living in these countries was never mentioned, nor is there any evidence they were even considered in his thought process. Then why did race become a necessary part of critic’s thought processes?

Rupert Colville, spokesman for the UN, immediately noticed the skin colors of the people living there, and assumed that was what Trump was referring to.

“"These are shocking and shameful comments from the President of the United States. I'm sorry, but there's no other word one can use but 'racist'.

"You cannot dismiss entire countries and continents as 's***holes', whose entire populations are not white are therefore not welcome. ”

You cannot hold them to different standards either—unless, of course, you were attempting to mask your own deep-seeded biases. This is ironic coming from the UN, given that their own UN Human Development Report comes to the same conclusions as Trump, albeit in less colourful language. Could there possibly be any other similarities between the countries involved besides the superficial notion that their “entire populations are not white”?

UN Human Development Report

The racist angle was entirely assumed in a fit of question begging, perhaps spurred by the constant demonization of Trump as a racist. But why would the UN spokesman, who has access to the same facts and figures as Trump, make the very same spurious and ugly connections between the phrase “sh#thole countries” and race that he tried to blame Trump for? Aren’t there other similarities between countries such as living conditions, poverty, quality of life, freedoms and human rights, that might make certain countries sh#tholes?

Not in La La Land, where standards immediately lower for reasons of race and color.

In Beverly Hills, which is a liberal bastion, many of them do not want Latin Americans in their place and think they are all poor. Ironically, these same people probably called Trump and Conservatives racists.

Racism - A feeling of superiority over another race or group of people
Prejudice - Thinking you know who someone is before you know them. A pre-conceived opinion.
bigotry - intolerant of those with different views or opinions
Hate - A severe dislike of someone

We are all prejudice to some degree. The kid with the pants at his knees of any race or color. We think we know who they are.

We all hate a few people in our lives. However, most people who hate are simply insecure or scared of what could be right which would make them wrong. I hate my ex for how she treated my son but I do not hate the person who hit my car in an accident. Hate is a strong word.

A bigot - There are plenty of them on ATSNN but they are not racist.

But it is very hard and few and far to find a racist. They exist but not in as great a number as the MSM wants to say.

However, today, they are all rolled into one. If I am out somewhere and point and say the black guy in the red shirt it would be considered racist in the SJW world of the left.

Not only that. People who hurl insults at others, are hurting and guilty inside their own mind. Maybe they have hurt someone horribly, and/or are failing in life.

Racism is the greatest card in the Dem play book. You just sham people into voting for your candidate

Is Trump racist, absolutely.

Thinking black people can show up in time: racist
Thinking blacks should learn proper grammar:racist
Thinking blacks should learn science:racist
Being white and having kids: racist
Giving your kids millions: racist

It doesn’t matter if you think any of the above things are racist. If 5 different people believe 1 of the above is racist and the other 4 things are crazy, when one of them says trump is a racist, they go to the one that they believe, and nod their head. It’s the greatest poliical scam.

If you're such an intellectual, why not refute the OP instead of bashing it. It shouldn't be much of a challenge for one of your intellectual caliber, surely.

former president of the Trump Plaza Casino John O’Donnell said Trump once told him: “Black guys counting my money! I hate it. The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear yarmulkes every day.

Another former Trump employee told the New Yorker that black staff were hidden from Trump when he visited the casino with his wife. “When Donald and Ivana came to the casino, the bosses would order all the black people off the floor,” said Kip Brown.

BWAHAHAHA

I’m not an intellectual.. I’m a trailerpark kid from Mississippi..

It doesn’t take an intellectual to have taken a debate class and know a logical fallacy when I see one.

College professors , scholars, mathematicians, exc are all intellectuals, and the vast majority are liberals..

Racism: the belief that one or more races is superior or inferior to one or more races..

Guess what is not part of that definition????

“Falsely accused someone of racism”

If you falsely accuse someone of racism, you are wrong, lying, a political shill, an idiot , exc, exc, exc..

It does not magically change the definition of racism to mesh with conservative toddler logic.

So this is something that many on the right just flat out refuse to acknowledge.

Racism is about more than just the colour of ones skin, language is fluid and definitions change over time, for me it is just as racist to say "I hate all dutch people" (its the shoes) as it would be to say "I hate black people" because socially and legally that is how racism is generally understood

So yeah it could be interpreted as being racist when Trump says a judge cannot do his job because he is Mexican for example.

Again you might not like it but its generally held as being true.

According to the International Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Racial Discrimination set out by the UN Article one part one:

In this Convention, the term "racial discrimination" shall mean any distinction, exclusion, restriction or preference based on race, colour, descent, or national or ethnic origin which has the purpose or effect of nullifying or impairing the recognition, enjoyment or exercise, on an equal footing, of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the political, economic, social, cultural or any other field of public life.

So when Trump says something derogatory about a person based on their national or ethic origin ie. Mexicans, then yes in accordance with this convention that is in fact racial discrimination or to give it another name, its racist.

You can find this in the legislation of other states and organisations, for example the Insitute of Race Relations defines "race" and "racism" thusly:

Race – The classification based on physical characteristics into which human kind was divided. The idea of separate biological races is no longer, especially after the Holocaust and the Nazi belief in a superior Aryan ‘race’, accepted as scientifically valid or ethically useable. Today people would use the term ethnic group.

Racism – the belief or ideology that ‘races’ have distinctive characteristics which gives some superiority over others. Also refers to discriminatory and abusive behaviour based on such a belief or ideology. In the UK, denying people access to good and services on the basis of their colour, nationality, ethnicity, religion etc is illegal and called racial discrimination.

So its quite clear that Racism is more than just biological characteristics and the colour of ones skin its much more about the overall make up of a individuals racial identity. Its is possible for example in many parts of Europe to be facing charges of racism for discrimination against individuals who belong to traveling communities.

Now with all of this those who subscribe to a more right wing ideology do not want to recognise this fundamental truth that most of the rest of the world has come to accept that race has evolved in to a far more complex issue than just biology because to do so would be to admit to being "racist" a label many do not wear with pride. The right just seem to have this absurd argument that all of this is just changing definitions to fit a ideological agenda that is country to their own when in fact the reality is just simply that they have not moved on with the times. They refuse to recognise that language and definitions change over time and that while in the 1920's race might have just mean the colour of ones skin, now a century later the definition is more complex.

It is in this background that for many, myself included, it is entirely reasonable to accuse Trump of making racist claims at times when he says things like this:

There are other examples.

So no the People who are calling Trump racist are not doing it because we ourselves are actually racist we are doing it because we live in a world where we actually believe, for the reasons outlined above, that at times he has actually said things that are racist.

If you don't like that OP, tough.

But to call me a racist when you do not know me just because you don't understand what racism is, is a prime example of how ignorance is pushing the right further to the right. This entire argument is like a child standing in a playground shouting "I know you are but what am I?" after being called a moron.

Trump has at times said some racist stuff, deal with it, by all means if you are ok with having a guy who likes to make the odd racist remark lead your country then feel free to support him, just be aware of how that may reflect on yourself.
