It turned out that Mr. Buffett, with immense income from dividends and capital gains, paid far, far less as a fraction of his income than the secretaries or the clerks or anyone else in his office. Further, in conversation it came up that Mr. Buffett doesn’t use any tax planning at all. He just pays as the Internal Revenue Code requires. “How can this be fair?” he asked of how little he pays relative to his employees. “How can this be right?”
Even though I agreed with him, I warned that whenever someone tried to raise the issue, he or she was accused of fomenting class warfare.

“There’s class warfare, all right,” Mr. Buffett said, “but it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.”
It's almost like he's doing it for love of country.
Or... maybe he took the job because he actually wanted to help the country, as he said.
Maybe he has enough money, and now it is more about making a difference with his life in a way that will make the country better.
Of course Trump is not making money right now
He had to stop doing business in his usual ways,
and remove himself from managing his businesses.
The people running his businesses are doing it out of the White House. You did know that, right?
Opponents insisted on this, and now you all are mocking him for doing so?
Opponents? You mean the law against conflicts of interest?
So what? It's his money. It would be worse if he squandered and wasted people's money like a certain Obama, who will go into history as the president who spent the most money ever.
That is why he was and still is pro Russia.
Just because his industry is slipping doesn't mean he isn't profiting directly from the presidency.
