Not much more on this yet, but I am trying to find more.

Seems like another safe space gun free zone, in a state with one of the most draconian set of gun control laws on the books. There is no word on why, but just being on campus with a weapon in this state is illegal. So if this is true, they have already broken the law.

I guess criminals don't obey the laws?

The campus in upstate New York was placed on a “shelter in place” order until further information was provided. Police told Fox News they received a call about an individual with a gun on campus. Police officers have arrived on scene, but told Fox News no shots were fired.

I will add more sources as they become available...........

Another source states the following:

The caller apparently phoned the college saying he was armed inside the Gordon Science Center. "Come get me," the caller said, according to tweets from the college newspaper.

Irony: the more press stuff like this gets, the faster someone else copies the overall behavior.

Lacking any other information and judging by the school, I find it highly possible that they found a drawing of an AR-15 in someone's backpack.

That would be an assault drawing.

Overheard at the local police station before the incident:

"Damn, I'm hurtin' for scratch this month. There's got to be something we can do to get some overtime... Hey, I have an idea...."

Gives a whole new meaning to 'draw your weapon!'

An update from President Casamento on the March 5 lock down.
Quote from the college president:

“Yesterday the College was the victim of a terroristic threat, and responded in a disciplined, coordinated fashion. The good news, of course, is that there were no shots fired and no injuries. That fact, however, does not minimize the traumatic effect -- on students, faculty, and staff -- of the day's events.

“Mindful of this, please be aware that many of your students will not feel able to return to class today, and those who do may find it difficult to focus. I ask, therefore, that (1) you postpone or avoid any exams, quizzes, or other graded activities scheduled for today; (2) if you feel comfortable doing so, devote some part of the scheduled time to allow students to discuss yesterday's events and their reactions; and (3) that you reach out to individual students who show evidence of emotional difficulties. Please help connect them with members of the counseling staff.

“It is not lost on me that yesterday was also traumatic for you. Please be aware that the HR office has secured the services of people from the employee assistance program who can be available for conversations to help you process these events.”

So, a phone call, with zero evidence, is enough to completely close down a college, and cancel classes the following day (including exams)? Anyone think it was a student that wanted to avoid taking an exam that day??

And today, they want to counsel these weakling snowflakes so they can focus on school work. Please. Welcome to the real world where there is no safe zone, no bubble wrapped life. They should have learned that from their parents early on, so they would not be "traumatized" by a false alarm. If they think that is traumatizing, perhaps they need to travel to the middle east and spend a day at the receiving end of U.S. military policy. Then they will know the true meaning of traumatized.

Unbelievable.

"That's how you get famous"

I do believe that to be the case lately. It's all about internet fame. Years ago the NFL had problems with people jumping out on the field during games. Every time it happened they would pan all the cameras to follow the action of the take down. The footage was later replayed on the news. It got so bad that they often had 3 or 4 of these per game. The NFL decided to fight this problem by no longer filming it. When it happened they would point their cameras elsewhere. It didn't stop completely, but it's now a very rare occurrence. The people in the stands no longer applaud them, they get pissed at them for stopping the game.

I firmly believe that the same thing can be used in these school shootings. These little punks get at least a weeks worth of news footage and countless internet posts. Yeah they go to jail, but todays jail is more like a resort you can't leave.

Take away the fame and you take away the desire.
