Not so much suspend, as delay thehill.com... Did you miss the week?

If your topic is important to you, make sure you explain why, with links and supporting material so that our members may offer more relevant contributions, and ultimately, better threads.

Excuse me for expecting folks to make an OP more than a few paragraphs of sensationalism.

If he keeps this jive up, Mueller's investigation results will be small potato's.

You know what they say about 'death from a thousand cuts"? and he's doing it to himself!! If it weren't so pathetic, it would be funny.
What a creep. He really is creepy. He's a creep show. He gives me the creeps.
President Creep.

/creep. I wallowed in it.

I agree. The OP (and any poster) should provide links as a matter of course. However, there are some topics which might be assumed that informed members may be aware of.

Fair enough.
Rightists want anyone who isn't a Christian to die or leave.

So according to you the rightists are killers.

Do you hold in your hands a crucifix when you go out?

What a wasted opportunity! This post belongs as the OP of a fresh new hate thread.

What the OP is referring to are comments the President made today while holding court at the Winter Palace.

Trump on China's Xi consolidating power: 'Maybe we'll give that a shot some day'

In the closed-door remarks, a recording of which was obtained by CNN, Trump also praised China's President Xi Jinping for recently consolidating power and extending his potential tenure, musing he wouldn't mind making such a maneuver himself.

"He's now president for life. President for life. No, he's great," Trump said. "And look, he was able to do that. I think it's great. Maybe we'll have to give that a shot some day."

The remarks, delivered inside the ballroom at his Mar-a-Lago estate during a lunch and fundraiser, were upbeat, lengthy, and peppered with jokes and laughter. But Trump's words reflected his deeply felt resentment that his actions during the 2016 campaign remain under scrutiny while those of his former rival, Hillary Clinton, do not.

As much as I think Trump is terrible and unfit to be President and realizing that he is unable to hide his authoritarian tendencies and admiration for autocrats, I wouldn't say we're anywhere near the need for armed rebellion.

It's concerning that the current state of politics in this country is such that the POTUS says this sort of # without fear of immense, bipartisan blowback and it's a troubling trend to keep an eye on but as of now, his statements are the idiotic musings of a clown.

We can decry the statements, denounce the man, demand that our other branches of government keep him in line and vote him out of office in three years. If something substantial changes, well, that'll be a different discussion.

Well it may be not Trump but with the way things are going, in the future we might have a dictatorship.

I wouldn't be surprised if Trump is just a preview of what's to come. No other President before him would have said it.

As the saying goes "Death by a thousand paper cuts."

What I find disturbing, and yes, more than a bit frightening, is the fact that a sitting POTUS, of either party, would even in jest, suggest that such a thing would EVER be given “a shot” in the US.

And having uttered such a heresy, was not immediately taken to task by the ENTIRE country, not just pundits and politicians.

What have we become as a nation?

Which topics? An what qualifies one as an "informed member?" Which topics are EXCLUDED from the it's-assumed-you're-an-informed-member-so-you-don't-need-to-post-links rule?
