Partisan politics is preventing qualified people who can actually help plan and build a stronger, more competitive United States from even bothering to run.

That's very true,
The only thing is, has Trump made this scenario the ultimate in unworkability, and where the only way through is to elect somebody that can convince everybody, politicians and citizens alike what is the best way forward and how to achieve it?
That certainly means less talk about grandiose schemes popping up overnight, and a deal more pragmatism.
The world is changing fast, and things will never be the same as before, people will have to change too.
If you look round the internet, editorials etc, you'll see the same tale as here of division and polarization among the public, but they don't say hysteria as is here, more that the political divisions in the parties, and polarizing of views from factions, extreme factions even, and so on is reflected in the public at large.
With only two major parties in the US, that makes for a much more difficult solution, only made worse by Trump.

As an outsider and not politically involved, I have to say that the US would be a better place without him, he is clearly exacerbating the differences between the two parties rather than trying to work on the things that can bring people together as a commonwealth...with him it's all winners and losers...end of.

Nearly everyone I know, is of the same opinion, he is full of empty promises, lies and deceit, and it will stay that way I'm afraid.

Anyone telling you different...that's the real humbug.

I often hear folks lamenting the fact that he tweets directly to the people (regardless of the content of those tweets). I've heard it said that this is unprecedented in presidential history, blah...blah...blah...

But, before mass communication technology (Telegraph --> Wireless Radio --> Television --> Internet --> ???) presidents used to take train trips to speak DIRECTLY to the voters! Imagine that, a president speaking form the back of a train car, or speaking in-person moving from venue to venue via the ever expanding railroad.

For those that believe this is a new phenomena, learn history...it will help lift the fog of the MSM spin from your head. This is not new, only rediscovered. And the MSM hates it because they cannot control and spin his words before the public hears them. That is what scares the crap out of the establishment. IMO, that is the root of this mass hysteria.

POTUS is a #-poster, all right. Frankly, it’s refreshing having access to a leader’s thoughts, as opposed to the public/private views we’re used to. The opposite is a political prop. This sort of transparency is too much for some, apparently.

His transparency shows how small minded and how concerned he is about his appearance to others and the need to prop up his fragile ego. His tweets are also a good record of his creeping dementia as they get progressively rambling and propensity for self absorbance.

Trumps tweets are a window into his soul. I enjoy them!

Hmm, I don't know, banging a porn star/escort and then paying her to shut up about it while his wife was pregnant was pretty untoward behaviour.

Having an affair with Karen McDougal was pretty untoward.

Raping his ex-wife was pretty untoward.

Focus in presenting a decent candidate next election instead of gossip 4 years.

Also, BFFT, that most if not all the people he had sent to him were people that were foisted upon him by the Republicans in Congress and the Senate. If you remember, hardly anyone in the house and senate like Trump or for really helping him because he was not an insider like them.

After the first five or six were interviewed by Trump et al, Trump realized what was going on - that the house and senate were not sending him very trustworthy people and he realized that he would have to hold his friends close and the enemies closer. So far, it has worked to his advantage although all these situations have slowed his agenda.

Another thing that has slowed everything to a crawl is the Russian Collusion fiasco. The Russians contacted candidate Trump through diplomatic channels to tell him that they had all of HRC's emails and would supply him with them. They didn't hack the servers just entered an IP address and downloaded them. Within the 100 or so thousand emails were passwords and classified memos.

Trump spilled the beans while on the campaign trail when he stated that he should contact the Russians for HRC's emails. That was then Hillary figured out what was going on and got all the Democrats, Main Stream Media and the Correct the Record to push for Collusion. It ain't worked and its not going to work. Someone said that the look on her face was Damn - will my diaper hold the brick I just shet??!!

The problem has been that the CIA has the emails as well as the NSA and neither will not release them so that they can be compared to the Russian obtained emails that Trump and Sessions have. The Russian emails won't hold up in court because it could be argued that they were altered in some way. However there is one other alphabet agency that has them and is willing to compare them. Trump wants a parade and he's going to get it!

I've heard that the real collusion should beware the ides of March...

Partisanship is good. The opposite is the single-party unity of theocracy and dictatorship. If you want unanimous consensus, move to North Korea.

Saying that would might have saved you the effort of trying to come up with an insult, and it would have been more honest to boot.

Really?
From your article....

Yet there is a growing call from a group of psychiatrists — the best medical experts at interpreting aberrant human behavior — for exactly this: an emergency evaluation of the president’s mental capacity, by force if necessary.

SO, this professor has not actually spoken to nor personally evaluated the president. Seems to me to be rather irresponsible for a doctor to make a diagnosis without actually seeing a patient. Seems to also be more a a partisan position on her part.

Come back with the results once she actually speaks to and diagnoses the president. Until then, all this is merely supposition and irresponsible medical advice. I wonder how the AMA likes the fact that a doctor advertises they can diagnose their patients without even seeing them?

But I understand perfectly.

You are unhinged because someone else has an opinion that differs from yours - so unhinged you wrote this long ass OP attempting to project whatever silly little things that go on inside your head onto people who don't like Trump.

Typically that's what we call 'triggered' on the net these days.

Careful not to let it intensify.

You do not understand, let alone perfectly. Your charicature of what goes on in my head is indicative of what goes on in yours.

I wonder.

If cellphones were banned but if you turned in your guns you could keep said cellphones, how many people would do that?

Since everyone is so willing to trade off freedom for convenience and security, I'm willing to bet DROVES of government dependent drones would form lines like Black Friday consumer-bots to turn in their personal 'security'.

Of that I have no doubt.

The entire west has become loser states ... not just the US. As it looks now, China will be the ruling superpower within the next 20 years.

Look at the Americans, they are whining "posseas" ... and look at Europe, they are ruled by "#meetoo" morons, who don't have the brain capacity to comprehend they are ruining the future for their own Children.

I'll gladly learn chinese, over these "retarded" twits ...

That's what people get from watching the news. And it's not just generic "news" it's the pundits and experts and anyone with their own show or anyone with their own radio show. Any one on the right was sure that Obama was destroying the US and yet here we are just fine. Anyone watching MSNBC is sure that Trump will be arrested any moment. Again, Baloney.

Don't watch the new, don't ever watch the news,

However, Trump and anti Trump sentiment, happens because of what Trump does and says.. His Twitter, his thin skin, his attacks and mocking of people. Trump, in short is a narcisistic Jerk. But anyone who is in business or reads a lot of business books would have already known that way before Trump was elected.

The big difference between Trump and Obama is that people hated Obama because someone in the radio and tv told them too. People hate Trump because he's a jerk. LOL

Full Disclosure...I hated Hillary too.
