Just noticed NRA's home page contains the following passage, straight from the top.

Help Fight the Socialist Wave
"President Trump's election, while crucial, can't turn away the wave of these new European style socialists bearing down upon us … How about Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, Bill DeBlasio, Andrew Cuomo, Corey Booker, Christopher Murphy and Keith Ellison … they hide behind labels like 'Democrat,' 'left-wing,' and 'progressive' to make their socialist agenda more palatable, and that's terrifying."
—Wayne LaPierre

Glad to see it. Will be donating all $5k of my tax refund this year to NRA-ILA

Am I wrong, or do most socialist movements tend to start out with "Tha Feelz" and "There oughtta be 12 laws against that!!!".

With any luck, we'll see some of this dead wood burned. After all, that's what nature does when a forest gets a little too old. This is why there are certain tree seeds that need a forest fire in order to germinate and take root.

Well, there is the third party in US politics coming out in the open after decades of propping up the Republican Party.
That is what I would like to see, no more ''who's behind the curtain'' bs.

In 2020 just go to the polls and cast votes for the NRA, who ever they run, just vote the NRA ticket. No more guessing who best will represent our freedoms, our hopes our dreams, just vote NRA. Life will be so simple for so many.

Butt then when they lose, maybe we can tell them to just shut the # up.

This could be the right battle but not easy at all to win.

Biggest reason is free time.

Most that value the american way of life do not have as much free time as those that seek socialism.

Socialism is an economic system that involves workers owning the means of production. It also involves sharing the wealth generated by those means of production. What the hell does the "National Rifle Association" have to do with either of those?

Are they now trying to prevent workers at gun manufacturers from owning stocks in those companies? And are they going to try to prevent gun manufacturers from giving employee bonuses (which is literally a socialist application of sharing the wealth)? Otherwise, that statement doesn't make sense. They need to stay in their lane.

com·mu·nism

noun
a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

I know what Marxism is. I also know that Marx & Engels were talking about in the Communist Manifesto, which describes the transfer of political and economic power from royalty & feudalism to the capitalists; from the capitalists to the socialists; and then from socialists to communists.

But anyone who supports or benefits from a 40 hour work week, overtime pay, employees being able to buy shares in the companies they work for, worker's compensation, unemployment benefits, employee profit sharing, and Social Security literally supports socialism in action. And if I had to guess, that includes plenty of people who work at gun manufacturers. Hence why this whole idea is stupid.

But seeing as so many people just dumb this stuff down and use "socialism" as a catchall bogeyman term for anything they don't like, I'm not surprised that many people who currently enjoy some of the things that I mentioned in the last paragraph are rooting for the NRA to oppose socialism.

Au contraire.

The only free corporate product we don't have the right to is a firearm, says the SOCIALISTS.

No i gave the other meaning of the word to highlight that it is a slippery slope. Between the two definitions and if one is not pro communist then one should see the need to keep the effort some put forth to go full blown communist in check.

Yes some of the systems you mention are beneficial to some but overall the systems are being raped by the debt and that debt will swallow us all if not kept in check.

Communism will never work as long as evil exist. Perhaps someday a man will come along and put evil in check and then we can be at peace with each other. Until then gov. programs and intrusion are not cohesive with our society as a whole.

It is the same way with all systems we have. The loss or debt will always be nipping at our heels until we find that inner peace among all.

To petition for socialism or communism without internal reform is the same as slow kill suicide.

In short the debt is the devil

It is pathetic for anyone to believe that Democrats or the "New Alt-Left Democrats" are anything close to "Socialists"
they are the same Neoliberal Capitalist they have always been

Left using red-scare tactics "Russia Russia Russia"

right using red-scare tactics "Socialists, communists, socialists, communists"

pathetic all around

I would rather vote an NRA ticket than a big pharma ticket *cough cough* the Democrat's.

Like I'm suppose to not want the right to bear arm's to defend myself from tyrannical government.

Remember though, that just because someone votes liberal or green party or democrat doesn't mean their a socialist. Also remember that when people think "Democratic Socialist" they aren't thinking venezuala but Norway, Denmark and the Scandinavian countries that generally boast the top standards of living in the world. Just something to consider.

Also, please consider, that you can be pro gun ownership. I am. And still want some tighter laws and policies and background checks. Also consider that the NRAs main job is to sell guns. That's what they get paid to do. It's not to fight socialism or second amendment rights or anything like that, it's only to sell guns.

What is funny, is no one mentions the Socialists Gun clubs, the "Revolutionary Gun Clubs", the countless Socialists, Communists, anarchists etc that don't want "Gun Control" enforced by the State/Government

Yes some of the systems you mention are beneficial to some but overall the systems are being raped by the debt and that debt will swallow us all if not kept in check.

So the NRA is now supposed to focus on federal debt levels? If so, then they should be against Republicans since they're increasing the federal debt levels right now (HERE). Though I fail to see what the national debt has to do with a nonprofit association about rifles/guns.

Communism will never work as long as evil exist. Perhaps someday a man will come along and put evil in check and then we can be at peace with each other. Until then gov. programs and intrusion are not cohesive with our society as a whole.

1. Communism and socialism aren't the same. I listed actual socialist programs and policies that exist in America right now. If people really support the NRA somehow defeating socialism, it would mean defeating those programs and policies, too.

2. Your argument also applies to every other ideology on the planet. How do religion or capitalism or feudalism or democracy "work" as long as evil exists?

To petition for socialism or communism without internal reform is the same as slow kill suicide.

That's preposterous lol. Calling for work weeks of 40 or fewer hours a week instead of mandatory 60hrs plus (which is what socialists did during the labor movement) is "slow suicide"? Allowing workers to share in the profits a company makes through profit sharing is "slow suicide"? Putting worker protections in place like worker's comp for injuries that occur on the job is "slow suicide"? Making sure that workers who are fired for no fault of their own have access to a limited safety net like Unemployment Insurance is "slow suicide"?

How on Earth do you expect me to take that rhetoric seriously? But if you get to use verbal gymnastics and over the top rhetoric to make your point, then so can I. By this logic, then surely we can say that gun production and gun ownership themselves are "slow suicide", right? After all, most actual suicides in the US are carried out with guns. And 10s of thousands of Americans are injured or killed every year with guns. So if the NRA was really fighting to reduce suicides or slow kill suicides in America, why wouldn't they include gun ownership or gun production?

See why your fearmongering rhetoric doesn't work? That's like a National Pancake Associate claiming it wants to fight capitalism in America because it's a slow suicide, but completely ignoring fast food restaurants and their obesity/hypertension/heart disease promoting products.
