NEWS: Canada Top Supplier of Oil to U.S.!, page 1

Buried in the business section of my local paper was this interesting tidbit. Canada has replaced Saudia Arabia as top exporter of oil to the United States of America! The figure of 1.6 million barrels per day is up 4% over last year! Add in the refined oil and the figure is even higher!

Canada replaced Saudi Arabia as the biggest supplier of crude oil to the United States in 2004, figures from the U.S. Energy Information Administration show.

In fact, the Saudis slipped to third place behind Mexico. And when shipments of refined oil products are included, Canada's lead is even bigger.

The U.S. figures show Canada shipped 1,611,000 barrels a day of crude oil to the U.S. in 2004, up 4 per cent from the previous year.

I find the misinformation given out by certain networks and personalities quite tiresome because either they don't know or they lie - both of which are disturbing scenarios. The fact was and is that Canada and the U.S. need each other, we are each other's biggest trading partners.
