A lot of it it may be rhetoric, since trends are towards urbanization, rather than back to rural, tribal lands.

Since most white farmers are leaving anyway (there are thousands of undervalued farms on the market).
Others have been stripped of assets like machinery and crops and abandoned, or turned into rural squatter camps.

One thing I can say for the Western and Northern Cape (and probably parts of the Eastern Cape) is that when the Bantu agriculturalists moved into SA in waves of migration (actually invasion) they took the land from indigenous Khoisan people. So they took the most fertile land along the Eastern coasts, but they never settled the Cape provinces, where the winter rains didn't support their crops. Just look at Cape Town - never a traditional black area of the Nguni (the related Zulu or Xhosa tribes) nor the Sotho. The population increased 4 times in twenty years, and now there's not enough water. And in fact, we still have two independent black kingdoms within the borders of SA (Lesotho and Swaziland - have a look how they're doing, especially democratically).

Since 1994 the aboriginal Khoisan identity has been growing steadily, and they do not regard the colonists from the Great Lakes region or Uganda as indigenous African "brothers" (at least not in large parts of southern Africa). They regard them as invaders, just as much as the white settlers since 1652.


Of course apologists for those invasions say "We're all African".

But that's not how it works on the ground.

The 19th century was a mess of tribal warfare, and only under apartheid and separate homelands for all the black tribes did the black population skyrocket from about 13 million in 1950 to over 40 million in 1995.

In fact, in the 19th century the entire black population after Shaka and his "crushing wars" (a series of tribal wars, or "Mfecane") the population of entire British South Africa was estimated at between 3-4 million (which included current SA, Lesotho, Swaziland, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Botswana).

How do they expect the descendants of these people to simply say: "We are all equal Africans" all of a sudden?
The land does not belong to all (never-mind that many white Afrikaners are a mixed, or creole people themselves).
You try and give Zulu land to the Vendas (Cyril Ramaphosa) or Pedis (Julius Malema).
They will go to war over it.
And the Khoisan already said the Cape provinces are their land.

So this sounds like a recipe for chaos and civil war (never-mind the violent xenophobia against African immigrants from elsewhere by local Africans).

This will become more pronounced as resources like food and water run out for badly distributed populations.

While the rhetoric might serve short-term propagandist goals, the outcome will be chaos, tribalism and civil war.

And the fact that most TV personalities and political leaders are Marxists (known for starving at least 40 million people into subjugation globally in the Second World during the 20th century), rather than local tribal authorities, hardly makes it any more promising.

This also sounds like a perfectly and timely orchestrated EU plot to attempt to restore colonial control over South Africa!
Let's not be mistaken that these types of statements, if turned into practice, will end up doing no more than justify a Dutch-British--EU intervention against South Africa and a renewal of European colonial occupation of Africa.

The King of the Netherlands and the Dutch and British royals are the main perpetrator of this land-grab in order to stir up a possible conflict in Africa in the hopes that it would involve the EU and the US in a new "War on terror" against Africa.

Theres a few problems here.

1) How do you prove who the land goes to? On social media a few years ago I qouted historical evidence that the black people tribes came into South Africa and killed out the Bushmen (Koi and San people) and took their lands. Black South Africans are not originally from SA, so they stole land first. So will the land be given back to the Bushmen??

2) Another historian stated that the land the government are talking about was not stolen, there were documents signed by both black leaders and the white people, after the land were was won in battle. This thing happened all over the word, it was a regular thing according to laws of war.

3) Most of the land owned by white people in SA, are used for farming or tourism. So if those lands are removed from the white farmers (who in some cases, export world wide and dominates up to 70% of the worlds supplies), the economy will fall apart. In the past, white farmers, who produced foodstuff for the SA market, were removed, and two years later, those farms were empty and useless! The entire farm's productivity were destroyed!

As I write this, the economy turned on the Rand, and it dropped as investers were warned about the chance that produce and exports will be destroyed.

What ending Apartheid did was allow the rest of the country start to look and feel like the townships. Sharing the misery as it is. De Klerk really did you guys in over there.

Not surprising. This is the country where it's illegal - or was illegal, I'm unsure - for white and black people to be together. Ever hear of Trevor Noah? The comedian? He's South-African and mixed, and his existence was illegal in his upbringing, making for a strange childhood.

Yeah... don't know much about the place, but it sounds like a sh!thole.

1, how do you even know this is true? Probably fake news as usual.
2, yeah.. obviously.. war is not ended yet.. stronger stealing land from weak is just got new methods. Peacefull method.
3, may be some other country take over the supply. Like india or china. Happens all the time.
