I saw a video a while back and it struck a nerve with me, because we can't seem to see that our current MO is toxic and destructive.

Perhaps a completely new shift in our MO would work?

It always comes down to wresting power away from asshats.

That usually takes weapons.

But since that's no longer socially acceptable (despite what
certain people say),

we are "stuck".

Well, I hear that the "Millennials" are doing some of that. They realize that unlike many previous generations, they will not necessarily have it better than their parents or grandparents. So they have learned to appreciate personal things, and friends, and experiences rather than things. They understand that their jobs are not their lives, and that small interactions can often be more important than grand gestures.

Not all, but some. A beginning.

How does society change? "One death at a time."

I've heard that too.. and wish the Millenials the very best.

but what they are doing, is to disassociate from reality,
rather than confront it.

They are giving up... letting the 1% stay in power.

I think the only hope is for women to take over..

I'm not joking.

An American version of Margaret Thatcher.

If that happened, you may as well shut up shop now.

I don't believe weapons would do it, because we're only hurting ourselves, and TPTB laugh all the way to the bank, on profiteering from chaos.

In an idealistic situation, if everyone decided to not give their power away so easily, things would change fast. People would need to learn how to produce for themselves again, on small plots of land, and share.

Unfortunately as long as we buy into our fear driven society, and are part of a grid/matrix, we are at the mercy of the people we allow to make the rules for us.

but I will agree that the majority of society is stuck, including me.

How Britain responded to one of Thatchers policies.

Eh. Most people I know were raised by women.

Nobody said change was easy!

Generally, good people, say a Kennedy is going to be assassinated,
before they can do any "good".

I'm not an expert on Margaret Thatcher.. she could have been
crappy.. us Yanks tend to have a very comical and incorrect
view of Brits; don't tend to actually learn about them.

Indeed.

Raised by powerless women.

Perhaps "powerful in the home", but that matters exactly squat.

It all starts at home.

I am a super duper idealist.

so I feel your pain.

If people don't care.. if they are not idealistic.. and not
willing to look beyond the end of their nose.. nothing
will ever change.. without weaponry.

With few exceptions.. Ghandi for example.. only by
killing off leadership/throwing them out has anything
ever changed.. rapidly at least.

You must be laughing at us.

You nicked our colonies and our language, just to name two.

Precisely.

We need outraged women putting the hammer down
on what is acceptable behavior towards others..

oh men could do it too..

but they have to fight off 2 million years of testosterone
screaming in their heads, to kill and plunder.

When did school shootings start? Why did they start? What did they have in common?

- Kids aren't shooting up random schools. It's the ones they currently or previously attended.
- They all seem to be on "approved" medical drugs.

What else?

Well other countries took your colonies away.. the Sun set on the British Empire
some time ago.. it wasn't the USA that did it. Blame your enemy the French
for that!

No.. I don't think that many Yanks laugh "at" Brits.

I certainly don't.

I'm a bit of a Anglophile actually.

Just a poorly informed one.

We love The French.

As long as they stay in France.

When I visited France, I got the impression that they viewed me as some sort of
rabid, unwashed dog.

Of course I was a Sailor.. so I guess they might have been correct..

still..

My mother said that if you get in a fight, get the biggest stick you can find. Another suggestion was that if somebody wronged you, you should throw a brick through their window.

She was funny.
