While Democrats are busy flinging Russia conspiracy theories
You mean like Mueller's indictments? Not much of a theory there. More like factual evidence supporting a rather large conspiracy.

attributing near-god-like powers to a small cadre of "trolls,"
Small cadre of trolls you say?
Twitter Admits There Were More Than 50,000 Russian Bots Trying to Confuse American Voters Before the Election

Previously, Twitter reported that some 36,000 bots were sending out automated tweets in the short period of time it analyzed surrounding the election, but it now says that number was a low-ball. Twitter found an additional 13,500 bots, kicking that number to 50,258.

Bots spread false information and are retweeted by those with confirmation bias to then create stories that are picked up by Breitbart, Infowars, et al, and are sold as real news stories. Remember Pizzagate? Here is an interesting story from Rolling Stone That seems to outline the problem pretty well.
Anatomy of a Fake News Scandal
Are there really Russian bots and how many twitter users are followers of these bots?
Twitter just purged ‘Russian bots’, and Trump fans are crying as their followers vanish

Personally I find all of this rather scary. I know we all experience some confirmation bias and cognitive dissonance from time to time but these fake stories are having real world consequences. What kind of a world is being created with so much false information going viral like it has been. Are Americans really that gullible?

Meanwhile, Dems give North Korea a pass. In my opinion, they do this because they support socialism/communism and can't afford another example of their failed ideology.
Which is it, Socialism or Communism and which of those is North Korea again?

Either way, they are (today and over the past 20 years) setting us up for a major confrontation with NK this spring,
I doubt it but the way Trump has been antagonizing Kim maybe your right.

It is time for the United States to stand up to the hostile North Korean threat force and eliminate it before it can strike our homeland.
A preemptive strike is no way to avoid a major confrontation with a hostile nation.

Exactly right and it makes you wonder why it's left to the US to solve. Amazing how other countries think it's okay to let people live that way. There's something about US culture that makes us want to help people. It isn't always about regime change or exploitation of oil, etc.

Personally I think the North Korean problem is a world problem. But so far Trump, of all people, is the only one who is standing up for the slaves of that country.

Democrats are worried that Russia hacked the election. Republicans are worried about North Korea's weapons. Neither side seems to care that we have foreign citizens in our government setting policy and influencing our legislative and executive branches.

I would think that people who make weekly threads about Russian trolls would be making daily threads about dual citizens in our government. Imagine if we had government officials with dual Russian or dual Korean citizenship.

They give NK a pass because Trump doesn't want to.

If Trump proposed to nationalize healthcare tomorrow, we'd hear all about how bad the proposal is while Pelosi called it peanuts.

#Resist is the greatest threat to America simply because its irrational. Its akin to a toddler throwing a fit.

Not only that, but the NorthKorean project is a crime against humanity that we have allowed to continue for far too long. It’s time to liberate the North Korean people.

Agreed

It is a mistake that should be rectified now. Their people deserve to lead a life free of oppression, to have freedom of choice and self-determination. To have the right to speak out against their government without fear of reprisals, and to speak up against crimes against humanity (not seen since Nazi Germany or communist USSR/China) without fear of generational arbitrary punishment

We cannot allow Kim to acquire credible nuclear threat force, or he will be entrenched and it will assure his people face decades of continued abuses. On the bright side it seems as though we have bled them dry of money, and with appropriate blockades we could ensure they have no choice but to totally disarm.

Food and rewards should be offered to defectors, giving preferences for military defectors.

We should also airdrop Iridium Satelite phones to their people. Freedom of information and to coordinate against the regime to hasten its demise.

Short of that, military brute force is more than justified given our current "at war" status. We have the right to strike the enemy at any time we choose

I've heard this whole time that Mueller was going to show that Trump was in bed with Russia (being peed on, no less). Now we have 13 foreign nationals being indicted as if that means anything. And folks are strutting around like a rooster in the barnyard over this?

LOL, ok. Yeah...he got 'em. Got 'em good.

Agreed
It is unfortunate, but their only message/direction is being the party against Trump. The credentials they seek most in their 2018/2020 candidates is "opposition to Trump's policies/Trump" (this came directly from a popular Dem community)

#Resist is the greatest threat to America simply because its irrational. Its akin to a toddler throwing a fit.

It is, and it is a shame they cannot see how badly they are being used by their own party. The democratic party used to be a beacon of freedom, truth, justice and everything good about a "democracy"

Now it just seems they represent everything bad. Populism, tyranny of majority, forcing their beliefs/opinions on others via judiciary/legislature and assailing the personal character of any person they deem a threat to their contrived narratives

It is a scary time to live in. The only silver lining is that we have a chance to truly restore a constitutional government. I think people are involved in politics/political process/government more so than ever in my life time anyhow. It would be great to see us do something great with this extremely high level of engagement

Good idea. Even a few planes airdropping anti-Kim propaganda might just inspire those inside the regime to fight for a better life.

North Korean defector Yeon-mi Park didn't even know what freedom or human rights was until she reached south korea. She didn't even know what love was, and that some people would die for it, until she watched Titanic, which she bought from the black market. The only love they were allowed was love of Kim, who she was certain could read her thoughts. So yes, a little information warfare could do the trick.

I am seriously confused.

Because of Mueller's investigation, Democrats are blocking measures on North Korea?

I'm pretty sure your entire point could have been made without dragging party into it and therefore looking like a troll. If there's any current legislation or policy up for debate on NK, I'd sure like to see it. But as far as I can tell, there's nothing floating out there for a party to accept/deny.

they do this because they support socialism/communism and can't afford another example of their failed ideology

Seems to me, that you were looking for a reason to take a slap at dems and found a nice little story to wrap it in.

It should be required listening. Her biggest complaint about the west is how much we utterly take freedom for granted.

I wish the Dems weren't so cavalier about ousting Trump. That's all some of them see in this whole ordeal. It is a means to an end...so and so flipped...it's a vast conspiracy...just a matter of time...tune in next week, etc.

This is a real issue not to be tied in with their story time excuses for losing an election.

If we believe the IC that bad actors are trying to seed the idea that our democracy is fragile and broken then you start looking for those patterns. We don't need to look far.

They are feeding the wrong wolf. Just as Putin intended.

Yes. Attacking Democrats about Russian concerns to talk about North Korea is fermenting partisan division. I'm glad that you are now up to speed with the class.

No, more like sick of hearing apologists and excuses and not to mention the fawning over NK behaving for 2 whole seconds at the Olympics. Meanwhile, we just learned our sanctions have bled his cash supply dry, and 99% certain (due to past behavior) he is behaving like a sane/reasonable adult in order to get a "reward" in order to buy more time until his nuclear threat force becomes field deployable/reliable.

So yeah, I do not deny taking a swipe at the left who in my eyes deserve it entirely. It isn't exclusively their fault, considering GWB-43 is ~30% responsible for allowing the problem to grow and fester. But their first nuclear detonation happened under Obama, who did absolutely nothing to challenge or deter them. (Trump will)

Just like Russia, Obama did nothing to challenge or deter them (Trump did, in many ways: from arming their enemies, to bombing their allies, sanctions, embassy closures and likely covert actions)

What do you think pariah nations like Iran, Venezuela or even friends like Japan, South Korea, and many more will do if we allow Kim to acquire nuclear weapons/threaten us with them/we take no action. We lose all credibility and nuclear non-proliferation goes right out the window ASSURING we get that nuclear terror attack we're about 10 years overdue for (according to estimates around 9/11/01)

We have no choice with NK. Politics aside, Kim is a threat to the world (with nukes) and a threat to the NK people (via his tyrannical dictatorship and inquisition)

Their delusions know no boundaries. There is no disputing their negligible attempts to sow influence or discord, but the left is intentionally ignoring how common and prevalent this action really is. They are trying to frame this as an existential threat, when in reality is little more than a nuisance affecting only the most easily influenced people (these people are less likely to vote to begin with, and are the types who hold up MSM as a standard of "truth")

Sad to see such ridiculous accusations being made

So what you're saying is that U.S. power has diminished to the extent that we can't fight on two fronts? Or is it that you're saying POTUS can't focus on more than one shiny object at a time?

Live by strawman, die by strawman. Silly distraction thread. Thanks Russia.

No what they did was not a common propaganda campaign. Try to understand they broke the law, impersonated American citizens and lied to you and tricked you setting up in country computer transfer centers to disguise the fact that they were located in Russia. They came here to learn how best to get us all mad at each other or to upset or discouraged to vote.
Personally I don't like being used. I don't want to be anyone's tool. But it seems that others like it. They're perfectly fine with it.
