Nevermind the gun debate and access to AR15s. Nevermind the cost of healthcare. Florida has far bigger concerns ya know?

Pornography is being declared a health risk by the Florida Legislature.

The state's House of Representatives approved the resolution by a voice vote Tuesday, despite some members asking why the topic is being taken up at this time. The resolution was sponsored by Rep. Ross Spano, who is running for attorney general.

Spano said there's research showing a connection between pornography use and mental and physical illnesses, forming and maintaining intimate relationships and deviant sexual behavior. The resolution states a need for education, research and policy changes to protect Floridians, especially teenagers, from pornography.

www.usnews.com...

It's all about protecting Floridians right? By getting down and dirty and into the privacy of homes. This passed reportedly after the legislature declined to review a ban on semiautomatic guns and large capacity weapons.

I'd really like to know how vast of an issue pornography is compared to these other matters? Because I call nonsense I really do. It's any wonder why people are so earger to get involved in what consenting adults do. It's any wonder how they get voted in continiously as well?

Really the most disgusting aspect of this display of true evil is survivors of the massacre were in gallery during this.

How these vile scum that further violated these children can even stand to pretend to have a soul is beyond me.

Sick and tired of people nagging about porn.

If you're weak and mentally unstable, go check yourself to an institution. Stop ruining it for everybody else.

Follow the money, some of those against it are probably assuming they don't have enough taxes from the local industry.

Florida Is the Second Biggest Supplier of Domestic Porn Stars

Florida may only be the fourth most populous state, but aside from California we've supplied the pornography industry with their second-biggest supply of hardcore video vixens. Yes, more porn stars were born in Florida than any other state but California. And, it shouldn't come as much of a surprise that the vast, vast majority of those Sunshine State mattress actresses come from right here in South Florida.

And don't forget, both chambers of the Florida State legislature are controlled by Republicans. They have a 23 to 15 majority in the Florida Senate and a whopping 76 to 40 majority in the Florida House of Reps. They also have a Republican Governor, so if this gets through the legislature, I'd fully expect it to be signed into law.

I´m not sure if I read this comment here or in a german forum but he had a point:
Those are not my words but he wrote it like this:

###
If the front-reason to ban porn is to protect women´s dignity:
We then need to ban romantic books with sex in it, too. Why? Because it´s porn for women. If my lady sneaks up to me after reading in one of her "romantic books" to have sex because the book made her horny...
Should I be hurt in my feelings because it´s clear that she will fantasize during sex me being in the role of the guy in the book?
###

Something along that line and he had a point!

I'd rather watch people make love than watch a war movie.
Maybe it's just me.
We're not talking snuff films here are we?
Just everyday porn?
People having a good time. Maybe even teaching viewers a move or two???
Oh well. They're probably against oral sex and sex before marriage and sex after marriage unless you want to procreate and sex outside the bedroom or sex with the lights on.
Lol.

Nobody tell them. Their daddies bleeped their mommies in order for them to be here.

I call them inspiration.

It's easy to maintain a year round tan in Florida and bronzed bodies are sexier.

If they ban porn, how are all those plumbers and step-moms supposed to make a living?

Yup, nothing sexier than a good case of melanoma.
Except maybe some porn and chicken.

Don´t get me wrong, I´m not at all for banning romance books or porn. But if some people demand it, I expect them to be consequent and think about what they are screaming for. Ministry of truth...

Generally I´m not a fan of PC/nanny state as I´m a direct person. Not rude but direct. Free speech ends where dignity is cut, for me, for example.. I know it´s seen the other way in the states but I don´t want to discuss that out.

[snipped because it belongs into another thread. (n-word discussion)]

Shades of Gray:
More like shades of a vanilla, if you ask the scene. The books, not the movie. Made it to second book and then I got dejavus and realized the very same repeating sentences from the first book. I can understand the excitement but it paints a wrong picture. The author did not do any favor towards that scene by implying abuse in childhood....

enough said..

guns in kid's hands, in schools killing kids... nope not a problem, it's not the guns that kills, it's the person who is misusing it...
porn??? oh ya, that is the danger.... it magically plants evil ideas into your head and drives you crazy!!!!

lol... lol... obviously, the republicans only like winning the majority power... once they get it they can't seem to wait to lose it!!!
