Obama issued sanctions against Russia for the meddling after U.S. intelligence officials said they had found evidence that the country had hacked U.S. groups and leaked emails in an effort to influence the 2016 vote.
He also expelled 35 Russian diplomats from the U.S. and ordered two Russian compounds to be closed.
Former Vice President Joe Biden said earlier this year that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) refused to join a bipartisan statement warning Russia against the interference during the election.

Obama didn't ignore anything. In September, the WH called together a bipartisan meeting of congressional leadership, gave them an intelligence briefing and attempted to get them to sign off on a bipartisan statement about the Russian meddling and to call for states to take measures to secure election systems.
See, Obama/his administration were concerned with acting unilaterally and being accused of influencing the election.
A few of the GOP leaders shot it down, Mitch McConnell in particular. In December, Obama sent a bunch of Russian diplomatic staff packing and imposed sanctions. In fact, it was those very sanctions that Flynn was assuring Kislyak that Trump would undo — in the communications he lied to the FBI about.
Trump on the other hand, is completely ignoring the interference that his intel chiefs say is happening right now. There's been no cabinet meetings about dealing with it. He's issued no instructions to the IC about dealing with it. In fact, he's been spouting off how "it's all a Democratic hoax" for over a year.
He hasn't just been ignoring it, he's been trying to get you to ignore it. You and all the other Trump supporters who continue to have undue faith in Trump. The only punitive action under Trump was actually in retaliation to the Russians cutting US diplomatic staff in like September. The administration still hasn't implemented the sanctions mandated by Congress.
And to top it all off, Donald Trump has *never* said a bad word about Putin or the Russian government, much less condemned their attacks.

a reply to: carewemust HMMMMM I like that you think this way but 1 fact remains. IF the big O was inline to set the big H for a win, why not release info that could implicate Trump in some fashion to a “fake” claim about the legitimacy of his presidancy? And to speak the truth there is no proof that the dossier is fake or real. All we know is that people on all sides are fighting to get the info released but has yet to make that happen. This whole thing stinks more than my locker from my TYA days.
Yea, he's a liar, too.
