When it's cold outside, I mean COLD, do you prefer liquor or some coffee / hot chocolate and/or tea?

Didn't get much above about 3F here today (spent most of the day below 0F). A buddy had some Hot Shot, and it was alright (I had a sip), but it left me feeling like I wanted something else.

Came inside, everybody was cold (dogs, cows, etc). Fixed some supper for me and my wonderful bride...and then it was time for a warm drink.

Boy, a nice cup of dark coffee on a really cold night sure is good!!

It's so cold outside, and everyone is happy and snuggling up to the warmth (where they can find it, the fire or another person/dog)...it'll be a nice sleeping night!!

I’d love to drink a warm cup of coffee at night, but I wouldn’t get to sleep .

I go for a nice hot cup of peppermint tea in the evening. Suits me just fine.

Coffee or a soda, doesn't matter what the temp is outside, a wet thirst quencher is a wet thirst quencher. Booze in excessive heat or cold just dehydrates me faster and makes me feel like s# even worse, so I tend to drink less in summer and winter overall.

If I'm outside in the snow I prefer a flask of black berry brandy..

If I'm inside trying to warm up next to the wood stove ,on special occasions a shot or two of crown royal x.o. works nicely.

Ironically, coffee actually puts me to sleep! (not wakes me up). So I can drink coffee at night and sleep like a baby.

Caffeine actually has the opposite effect on me that it does on most.

In any case, caffeine is bad for me (heart), so I drink only decaf now, but that's even more soothing.

I LOVE coffee. (but I never go to places like Starbucks!!)

Strong coffee, with a little cream and sugar to cut the bitter.

I don't drink. Also, I have insomnia and can't drink anything with caffeine after a certain time or I won't sleep. It depends. Hot chicken or beef broth is good when it's cold.

Used to live in Minnesota. Gluhwein was my favorite drink, especially at night.

When it -40 C here, usually for about a month straight until it tapers off to -30ish,
I enjoy getting the fireplace roaring, playing some video games in the living room and not even thinking about stepping foot outside.
The wife loves to bake and cook, so everything works out perfectly.

It's just above freezing and raining here.
Wet and dreary.
I go for a cup of coffee with a shot of whiskey about now.

When it's cold outside a good hot cup of coffee is hard to beat. I grew up working in the construction industry, in the winter, holding a cup of coffee warmed my hands on many a morning, while studying blueprints or laying out the next task.

I have never been one to spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but I always found something to bake when it is really cold outside. Makes the place smell good and helps to keep it warm.
