No they did not keep it out of the news cycle.

You would not remember it otherwise.

I read about it on forums like this one, I didn't see it in the news.

Interesting, because it got covered... of course, it was spun differently. Louisiana for example... People were on Obama's back about not rocking up sooner, but no one cares that the Democratic governor of the region asked Obama to stay away for a while, so that the media and the entourage who follow him, as well as his security detail, would not get in the way of moving people and supplies to where they needed to be, or distract people from the work they were doing.

Of course, all you hear about is that Obama was unwilling to put a halt to his holiday to visit Louisiana in its time of need... But its a LIE and a damned lie at that.

Trump should stay away, but Don the Con has zero class and is a complete schmuck, so he'll probably go.

How long did it take for them to organize the marches and so on.

Someone put in big money fast.

Gun free zone, Cruz passed the background dictated by law, and it's Trumps fault.

They have the right to grieve.

They have no right to be STUPID about it.

Wow, this may be the most asinine post of the day, congrats on your medal!

They absolutely have the right to be however they want to about it. I suggest your go educate yourself on what the rights of US citizens actually are....

To channel Luther Blissett, it's not Cruz who is to blame. Most Americans are.

The ones who excuse this as the actions of a madman.

The ones who justify the centrality of guns to American culture, including the ones who queue up on a Saturday night to watch yet another movie about men with guns and the ones at home on the sofa watching yet another TV show about men with guns.

The ones who deflect attention away from the US's third world level of gun crime.

The ones who offer thoughts and prayers and no practical solutions.

The ones who wring their hands and post memes on social media.

The ones who vote for yet another politician buoyed up with NRA / gun industry money and the ones who stay at home and don't vote against them.

The ones who shout loudly for gun control for a few days before going back to watching guys with guns on TV.

The ones who pretend the safety of the people is not the government's highest moral duty.

The ones who would throw away a big chunk of your liberty and billions of dollars on protecting you from paper tigers instead of the real day to day threats.

The ones who will only compromise on their own terms, hiding behind the basest partisan politics.

The ones who blame the media - mainstream and alternative - for being too corporate, or too right wing, or too liberal without question the nature of the media, its role in public life and their own role in sustaining it.

The ones who are, implicitly or explicitly, comfortable with an "acceptable level of violence" - it happened somewhere else to someone else so it's nothing do with them.

In a democracy, you get the society you deserve, the crimes you allow to happen.

All of you.

The FBI is responsible. DCF in Florida is responsible. The Children, Adults and Teachers who knew he was a f'n nut are responsible.

NOT Donald Trump.

Now, find a solution to 'protect' our schools because all I hear is gun rights....Hold those responsible for allowing this to happen and fire them all. Responsibility. That is what the country is lacking. However most of you lemmings want to allow more restrictions and not solutions.

If you banned ALL gun sales in the US for a year do you think there would be no more violence?

In the US education system children are programmed to be automatons of the State. This is the system of pedagogy developed by John Dewey who believed that oeople existed for the State.... another version of totalitarian communism. The system uses values clarification to separate children from the values of their parents and take on whatever the State desires. Perhaps that explains the brainwashed view they have that Yeump is just a big ol meanie.

That case Obama interfered with the governors actions specifically relating to the use of certain items in cleanup. But wow the things are memories focus on.

Who's actions would they be, if not that of a madman's ??

You act like the gun free Utopia's of Britain and France are free of crime. Violent crime is higher in those places actually per capita.

In the United States, Hands and feet still kill more people than rifles of all type combined. Are there laws against using hands and feet to kill? Then why do three times more people still die by hands and feet every year than all types of rifles combined??

I don't understand, I thought laws are supposed to save all humans from death?? Right?? That seems to be how people think when they preach their anti-Americanism hatred towards the second amendment.

USA is not even typically or ever in the TOP 100 countries for violent deaths.

They got some "real pros" quick and slick coaching them. Not to mention the eloquence of there speech for a bunch of public shool kids. Yeah, somebody is using this tragedy for no good.

It's a lose-lose situation for Trump, despite the fact he is not the one who pulled the trigger.

If Trump shows up, some grieving families will say he is looking for political brownie points, but if he doesn't show up some grieving families will accused him of being inconsiderate. The man has a nation to run and he can't avoid a Charlton Heston faux pas-the guy showed up at a NRA rally in the same town just days after a school shooting.

Let Trump do his job and let the families grieve.

No they aren't .
Guess you get out of school what you put into it.
Our progress through the years our advancements prove you're wrong.
New ideas don't come from stagnation and constriction.
That's just a sad way of seeing the world.

With respect, Sillyolme, schools are indoctrination centres, which operate the same way regardless of who is in power, Democrat or Republican.

The purpose of these places, is to force a child to accept ridiculous notions like:

1) It does not matter who started it

2) You have no rights

3) You must not defend yourself

4) You must perform rote tasks, even if your IQ and your aptitude for higher learning is incredible

5) You must succeed at testing, even though it is a poor way of finding out what knowledge you have gained, and is often absolutely no indicator of either ones raw intellect, nor capacity for learning.

The last murder in my town was 1922 and it was Communist that killed a cop so stay away from my town. A couple of blocks from where I work are the guns from the St Valentines day massacre and they haven't killed any one since.

Now there is a ban we can all get behind. Close all public schools and reboot into a private system.
