I would agree with you, if you went back quite a bit further than 24 years.
You could go back to just after the end of the Second World War, to find examples of American governments and administrations, making decisions which
had nothing to do with the people, and everything to do with reinforcing the affluence of a scant few, politicians included.
Look at the Bush family. Prescott Bush, who was a senator at one time, was also a director and shareholder in companies which benefited from the rise
of the Third Reich, despite knowing full well what the cost of his actions were. It was only in 1942 that his assets were seized under the Trading
With The Enemy act. The war had been going on since 1939, and yet still, Bush was involved and happy to be. Also, General Motors were involved with
Nazis, all for profit of course, and they did benefit from their association, in a financial sense.
Then you have the assassinations of figures from the socialist movements in South America, actions undertaken either directly by agents of the US
government, or proxy agents from organisations created and trained for the purpose, by CIA operatives. Also, you have economic sabotage, committed by
the same agency, for the same reasons, keeping all the profit and the trappings of wealth, concentrated in the United States, preventing success in
South American nations to remain unchallenged financially, keep the neighbours poor and needy, so they could later be used as scapegoats for Americas
problems. This sort of crap went on from the mid fifties, and as far as anyone can tell, is still going on to one extent or another. This sort of
malarkey is what lead to the War on Drugs, which as near as an examination of actual historical context can show, turned out to be largely an excuse
to keep already destabilised nations, from making the best of their natural resources and mineral wealth, as well as becoming an absolute money
spinner for the private prison industry, and a control methodology to divide and disrupt people power at street level in America.
Then you have the debacle that is the beginnings of the War on Terror, a group of activities which should NEVER have been undertaken, the recruitment
of Osama Bin Laden as a CIA asset, which to this day remains a problem, if only because no one can prove that he was no longer an asset by the time
the 9/11 attacks came about, the creation of funding, supply and armament smuggling routes to feed the insurgency, and the birth of the monster that
would eventually become IS, which is STILL a bought and paid for proxy outfit, which, whether the majority of its members realise it or not, owned and
operated by the United States government and its allies. Its existence as an entity, in its various guises over the years, has bought about huge
amounts of defence spending, permitted governments to violate the rights of their own citizens by illegal surveillance of their private business
without probable cause, has enlivened the PMC industry...
This sort of pocket lining has been going on for DECADES longer than you seem to be taking account of. Its the underpinning of the modern United
States. People like Trump are not here to fix that, because they do not see it as a problem. Trump has proven already, by his consistent refusal to
speak only the truth, to refer to reality rather than his feelings, by his inability to be transparent about his businesses and their operation, and
his involvement and debt exposure to hostile nations and organisations in hostile nations, that he has NO intention of Making America Great Again. He
intends instead to continue the "fine" American tradition of bombing the hell out of innocent civilians, in proxy wars his nation actually started,
against foes his nation invented and created and actually control from an agency perspective, and make money hand over fist from backhanders all the
way along, which is exactly the same as it has always been.
The only things that differ about the man, when compared to previous abusers of their position is that he is a fascist appeasing turd, and too ill
educated and poorly read to be believable, while acting the part for the camera. Even at a shell game for which the instructions are well known and
documented, such as governing while robbing the people, a game many have played before him without so much as letting slip a fart, the current
President of your country screws your people, and makes your citizens watch him do it, like some kind of sexual deviant running amok in a nunnery. He
is an amateur at best, and a worse power player than you have ever seen at worst.
