Think about this when the billionaire owners of your local professional sports team ask you to ante up for a new venue.

Tell them to eff off.

Hi Abe-

Who makes the $$$? The IOC™ split the $$$ but this is AFTER the politicians and Lobbyist split the 'graft $'

awfulannouncing.com...

Who does it also cost? The athletes themselves.

www.youtube.com...

It is also used to raze depressed areas, kinda like the imported violence on properties in Larger U.S. cities.. They import dread and then when everyone leaves the area, the $$$-grubbers develop that area.. See: New York; Chicago

Host countries can develop infrastructure and establish new business opportunities.

If places decide to build football stadiums or revamp their downtown areas for upscale, chic urban dwellers then its their loss.

They should get awesome roads, subways and multi purpose sports facilities.

Stuff like that. Usually thats what costs so much. Getting host cities to a higher standard of operation in order to accommodate the world.

It is absurd though. Why not just do those things and simply host a music festival instead where athletes perform to live music. Maybe a carnival. A 3 ring circus....a space launch...

Members post (Thecakeisalie, bottom of page one) reveals the secret. The only ones making money are the TV advertisers during world wide Olympic coverage.

I knew there was an illuminati(ng) truth in there somewhere.

Or a televised war. Another kind of athletic competition...

Happens al the time. Gulf Wars, Israel pounding Gaza.

Hi Gym!

I always wondered why only amateur athletes are allowed to compete in the Olympics. If they let professionals compete, they would have to pay them.

Obviously the hotel owners, restaurant owners, transportation companies, etc are making billions off the Olympics. Governments always lose money as they aren't run like a business.

But it's a net loss for the taxpayers as it takes in less than it costs so therefore only certain hotel owners, restaurant owners, transportation companies, etc are making money that the other businesses/private citizens are kicking in.

There's more to hosting the Olympics than the a financial calculation.
