The software used on the voting machines is closed- source. I'm sure you knew that already though. Good luck with your voting!

So , the software should fall under the GNU GPL ?
What makes you think it should ?
And , under your reasoning, should every home have a voting machine ?

Its called the Internet, but they would never use it for that.

They are not connected to the internet. So , yes , they would never do that

The reason they don't use the internet for elections because it would be uncontrolled , as in truthful.

A quick twitter count of likes and zing , there you have it.

They need to phony baloney results, that takes time.

The software should indeed be GPL'd. Then people with real knowledge of programming could examine and test the code to make sure it is secure. The hardware should either be standard hardware or have the specs published so that computer engineers could verify it too.

And yes, thank you for arriving at the only real solution! A trusted and incorruptible voting machine in every home for people of voting age! Then again, democracy is too much for the people (except for foreign nations where it needs to be delivered by carpet bombing!) so you keep on making your silly little vote every four years and pray that things will change.

Politics. The art of appearing to provide changes while giving none.
