I wonder how many New Yorkers are ticked off over the Liberal mentality that is so prevalent in New York City. I live in Upstate, Ny (Rochester) and unfortunately, this city is fairly Liberal too. Regardless of your political affiliation, this issue concerns the safety of American citizens. I'm willing to bet, that many people don't realize, that ICE Immigration detains illegal immigrants based on Civil Immigration Enforcement Priorities:

DHS's clearer and more refined Civil Immigration Enforcement Priorities,[1] which ICE began implementing in FY 2015, place increased emphasis and focus on the removal of convicted felons and other public safety threats over non-criminals. ICE continued the implementation of these priorities with steady success during FY 2016. The implementation of the Priority Enforcement Program (PEP) further builds on the prioritization for removal of convicted criminals with the support of state and local jurisdictions. PEP became fully operational in July 2015, and, since that time, ICE has engaged in extensive efforts to encourage state and local law enforcement partners to collaborate with ICE to ensure the transfer and removal of serious public safety threats.

www.ice.gov...

FOUR key words from that statement: serious public safety threats. So what are these priorities that ICE agents use to detain illegal immigrants? Priority 1:This level is for illegal aliens who are terrorist suspects, who are in an organized criminal gang or who were convicted of a felony. Priority 2:This level is for illegal aliens convicted of misdeamenors, other than minor traffic vioations, that include: domestic violence, sexual abuse, unlawful possession of a firearm, illegal drug distribution, driving under the influence or abusing the visa or visa waiver programs. Priority 3:This level is for illegal aliens who have been issued a final order of removal on or after 01/01/2014 and are still in this country illegally. Seems to me that getting rid of illegal immigrants would increase a citizen's safety in New York City...right? Apparently Bill de Blasio and other city officials don't think so.

The NYPD got a whopping 1,526 requests from the feds to detain immigrants in President Trump’s first year in office — and rejected them all, officials said Wednesday.

In 2016, cops complied with two of the 80 requests to turn over undocumented immigrants who got arrested to the feds for deportation.

ICE recently arrested nine people in New York who were in the country illegally and released by the NYPD despite active detainers and pending criminal charges, the agency wrote. They did not specify what crimes the immigrants were charged with.

“The release of criminal aliens back on New York City streets continues to pose a dangerous risk to our communities,” said ICE field office director Thomas Decker. “ICE will continue to dedicate more resources to conduct at-large arrests to ensure the safety of the law-abiding citizens of these communities."

The following statements are from two Democratic councilman, who apparently have two opposing views on this subject:

Councilman Paul Vallone (D-Queens) worried the city’s strict sanctuary rules may be preventing it from turning over people guilty of violent crimes. “It’s my hope that our hands aren’t tied in a situation when you do have a violent offender, whatever their status may be, if they need to be arrested,” he said. “For me, it’s about safety.”

Councilman Brad Lander (D-Brooklyn) said cops were right to unanimously reject the requests. “There’s every reason to believe from what we know about those detainers that the vast majority of those individuals had done nothing serious,” he said. “Honoring those detainers would have been becoming part of ICE’s deportation machine.”

Why would you want to gamble on the safety of your citizen's Mr. Lander? You mean to tell me that those in charge in New York City haven't read the Policies for the Apprehension, Detention and Removal of Undocumented Immigrants, or the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) enforcement priorities? Could it be that Bill de Blasio and his cronies are just unapologetic liberals, who hate Trump's administration and their crackdown on illegals in this country? Retired NYPD Lieutenant Joe Cardinale says the move by Mayor Bill de Blasio makes citizens less safe.

I wonder if De Blasio knows that conspiring with citizens of foreign nations to usurp the leadership of a democratically elected POTUS is considered treasonous behavior. He may think he is standing for a cause, of which I do sympathize with, but you need to choose your battles wisely.

Conquer from within. These leaders that are in charge of enforcing the current laws are nothing more then lunatics running around with #tty diapers taped to their freak'n mouths.

America is doomed if this keeps up.

on the bright side the new immigration policy passed by congress and sent to the house makes it`s illegal for any city or state to make laws that prohibit any law enforcement officer from enforcing immigration laws.

it ashame that we need to make laws that force law enforcement officers to enforce the laws that we already have.

Every time I think of Bill de Blasio and the term idiot I think of a couple of lines from an older comedy haunting movie . The mom and dad were the spirits and the conversation was

Dad - "our son is an idiot"
Mom - " Hon, we have known that for years."

Ah, the good ol' multi-tiered justice system. Your average Joe would be hearing legal terms like "aiding and abetting", "accessory after the fact", and "your bail is set at ten times your net worth."

Will someone please start a sanctuary city for counterfeiters? Preferably somewhere warm. St. Thomas would be nice. But I would take a colder climate as long as I could print enough to pay my heating bill.

and I see that the house wouldn`t vote for that and shut the government down again
, I expected that the liberals in the house would vote for something like that lol

That's what happens when you have "open boarder minded people" in charge. Think of England now. Poland, said "screw you idiots" and kept the free loaders out of their country. Good for them.
