The ghost hitch-hiker.

In South Africa, we have this legend about a woman who died sometime in the 1960's in a motorcycle crash.

Now a lot of people who take that road say they can suddenly feel her in the car.

She apparently gets in and out, but while she's there, it's very noticeable, and she smells like apples.

Uniondale is known for its ghost, a young woman who stands alone alongside the lonely stretch of road between Uniondale and Willowmore. When people stop to offer her a lift, she gets into the car and then – unsettlingly - vanishes.

A residual loop? Maybe she once traveled it after death to her final destination but continues as residual. At least one can hope a soul isn't consciously stuck in that loop.

Sounds very similar to theResurrection Mary story from Chicago, Illinois, USA.

There's a similar urban myth here in Massachusetts, US. On Rte 44 in south eastern Mass (part of the Bridgewater Triangle) there's supposedly a red-headed middle-aged hitchhiker who is seen on the side of the road thumbing but disappears when the car pulls over. There's also a couple of stories about him appearing in the passenger seat.

Some people aren't 'conscious' now.

I saw a 'loop ghost' once, 'she' turned her head and looked right at me, looked away, then looked back.

I thought she was a real person at the time though, so didn't think much of it, at the time. She was sentient, for lack of a better term.

Apparently Facebook is cleaning it now, but hope it hasn't affected anyone on ATS.

It really wasn't my fault.
I hope I don't get unfairly punished for this.
My smart-phone just died too (probably the cause).

But nowadays, if a hitch-hiker walks into the road, it's probably not a ghost people!
Just somebody fiddling with their phone.
