How to STOP G Chrome from searching in the address bar

That's what it is and it will not allow typing in the search query - only the Omni box.

Go to this page HERE and SCROLL DOWN to the COMMENTS. It explains the problem along with a lot of people who are just as ticked off about this as I am.

SO FAR - the ONLY thing that works is just putting GOOGLE in your Bookmarks and hitting that - then you can search in the search query.

NOTHING ELSE on that page (in the comments) works but adding Google to your bookmark.

I only used Chrome way back in its infancy . And that was just a trial period
Die hard Firefox Fan here all the way 18 years now.
I dont have any issues and I am not interested in all the bells and whistles that comes with Chrome.
FYI - Search Comodo Chrome. I used Comodo ISS with Comodo Chrome (used to be called Comodo Dragon)

Try the Brave browser and you get both...the guy that created Mozilla and JavaScript tweaking the chromium engine for privacy and a new block chain based advertising model. And a few more buzz words. I'v been using it for a few months. It's decent enough.
