all i know is this is one of the greatest movies of all time. i love it

handles wonderfully the casual predestination pradox as well as the grandfather paradox and the cassandra complex.

Huh?
12 Monkeys is self-admittedly a detailed reinterpreting (retelling) of La Jetée (the 1962 french short film).
That's the plot theory... they borrowed another plot.
