I was watching that semi drama/documentary called Mars, which showed clips from real people today, Elon Musk included, and then a dramatised mission to Mars in 2033. Elon was adamant that he wanted to make reusable rockets, that could actually land, refuel and take off.

en.wikipedia.org...(2016_TV_series)

Anyone know if Is he still thinking this way? I just can't see it as a reality. And that's one beast of a thing they just launched..

There's a lot of garbage in space and despite how cool an achievement this is, it's another one on the list.

I see many wealthy investors for SpaceX and have to ask..
Does NASA still have the best space program or engineers?

Musk probably pays better.

Did they recover the third booster rocket that landed at sea?

EDIT TO ADD:
I see they lost the core booster. Some of the return engines failed to light.

They should use a protective dome that blows away with the engine thrust. A rolling canopy half circle.

Maybe Elon got the idea from this?

Here's a cool remake intro too. And the strange with this remake, it was published exactly 3 years before the launch.

Yeah I see that but I just don't buy any of this.
I must be a minority, however.
I wish I could believe this, but I really just can't. Too much 9/11 and moon landing lies...

What are you going to be like when SpaceX fly tourists around the Moon during 2018?

Thanks zaph for keeping this thread going

So nobody saw a green purple thing drifting to mid screen and disapating until its two spots on the middle of the screen. They than disappear.

Did they do the test with the Van Allen Belts?

Yeah, everything seemed to go fine. They still have to look at the raw data, but the big test was if the rocket would function, and how the fuel would react to that long in the belts.

Well, of the 3 rockets two returned and landed nearly simultaneously, it was pretty cool...

That article is one year old, is that still happening this year?

Almost certainly not. The manned Dragon first flight was slipped to later this year. They haven't given a date, but it looks like after June based on comments about Boeing being the first to fly their manned capsule.

If it is fake, then amateur astronomers are now in on it!

spaceweather.com - AMATEUR ASTRONOMERS PHOTOGRAPH ROADSTER IN SPACE: It's official. Elon Musk's cherry red Tesla Roadster is a spacecraft..

It is on the main page, so not sure how long it is going to be there.
