Hearing this makes me wonder, how it will be used....

In my eyes, technology should be used in order to make people more productive, while making their life easier, not for making them work like robots with maximum efficiency and no privacy. That is what automation/robots are for. This technology can be used for both. The guidance system can make the life of employee's easier, although the hand movement tracking can create expectations of them to work like robots.

It's simple. They need to collect data on human hand movements involved in various processes, in order to build Robotic Androids to replace the human labor. The Androids will "mimic" the human movements, and so be able to do that same job.

That's all it is.

It's not about making people into robots. It's about making robots act like people do.

I agree, but it is always a choice to work for any business.

As opposed to starving right?
I mean it is not 1885 anymore where we can go out on our own and stake a claim on a plot of land and grow our on food.
People do have a choice, to work or to die right? Those that do not work do not eat as I have heard so many times.

How is that different than what exists under Communism?
People have the same choice there as well.
Serve the state or DIE.

Serve Big Business or DIE.

Be a victim if you like, I've always chosen whatever method of making money in my life, never coerced always a personal choice.
It is not slavery, nobody is forced to fill an Amazon job application forms out, it is a choice.
You sound like a socialist who wishes to regulate my employment choices.

Because they haven't mastered the nanobot technology, yet.

I'd be finding a new job. I just feel bad for those who for whatever reason might only have Amazon as their best shot right now.

It'll be interesting if this technology actually gets used.

Or if used lives past a very short period as they find they can not hire or keep people once a person uses it.

I have around 50 under me in well paying positions and it would not take much for them to decide to leave even though most make 80k+

People are lucky theyre going this route and keeping humans in jobs rather than going fully automaton, where they would save more and profit vastly more with little or no mistakes.

So you are saying that Amazon is in the business of creating jobs for workers out of the goodness of their own hearts and foregoing potential profits?

Amazon did not make a profit for 10 years bud. They still don't. It's all tax payer incentive smoke and mirrors. Please don't post just to be spiteful. You sound dumb.

They don't make profits. But, they do have revenues. And lots of revenue "growth."

What many cos like Amazon have figured out, is that it's better to re-invest revenues before they become profits, because the profits are "taxed", resulting in the loss of growth opportunity due to "compounding".

Government taxes severely limit the ability of any investment to benefit from "compounded returns."

If you can pay your taxes at the end of a 10 year period, instead of paying taxes every year, then the annual tax savings become available to reinvest and compound the return, so that at the end of the 10 years two things happen

1) you pay more tax to the government at the end
2) you make much more money yourself.

The thing is, when the Government "siphons" off part of your revenues while you're growing, it slows your growth down, and it reduces the taxes the government gets, because the government doesn't "invest" the part they take from you, they just "spend" it.

So, everybody wins when you can delay the tax you owe.

It's the socially responsible thing to do.

That's why Amazon Stock has increased so fast in value.

They pay no tax.

Want to bet someone will get busted for doing the one hand jive in the bathroom. Amazon pickers work a lot of hours, so sex life is far and few between.

One word unions.

This is a one way street that treats people like faceless labor units. Anyone who thinks this is ok, needs to realize that labor and industry need to have input from both sides. This is the result of industry dictating to everyone.

This is the wave of the future folks and its only going to get worst.

On my job for years they have what we call a chronos clock, no more punch cards, a thumb print to get in work…

Soon I hear eyes to enter the work place and monitoring from GPS units on truck drivers to cameras on work places, I see it everyday.

On my own job the fellows were spying on the employees since we control the security IT equipment and they were ogling at people. I had to ream them out to STOP THAT CRAP.

Its only going to get worse and worse and worse

People didn’t want unions so they’ll get this

Boom, unions are the protections that are needed.

But major monopolies are not going to allow this. And can there even be a walk out by employees that if they miss a day or 2 of pay are literally on the street.

Low pay = easily controlled disposable employees.
