What’s more, the same information is not used over and over to extend surveillance under FISA. Instead, every 90 days, the FBI, as a matter of practice, shows evidence to the court that agents are obtaining foreign intelligence information through the surveillance that is in line with the initial FISA application.

Great to have this Brave Neocon World, innit? Crimean bubbly?

And cheers to the old Stasi fellas as well, they must be laughing their asses off right now.

And, yet, if the original warrant was unlawful...any renewals are unlawful if they were based on evidence garnered through the original.

It's now being reported that the FISA court was informed about Steele's biases and the political nature of his funding, though he may not have been named specifically, as it appears to be normal to not disclose sources to the courts.

Not sure if that is true, but interesting nonetheless.

LOL - do you know who Shane Harris is? Look him up........

CAUTION - here is a simple breakdown of the memo - it articulates how open, honest and transparent team-Hillary Clinton was/is..Ignoring this will result in deniers eventually eating crow......

Also,

.@RepMattGaetz: "A dossier, paid for by the Democratic Party, was used as a basis to spy on American citizens. That dossier was validated by a @YahooNews article that was planted by the very author of the dossier."

It's the opposite for me. Why make false claims that evidence contradicts?

For propaganda's sake. It doesn't matter if it's true. All that matters is that it is repeated over and over for it to work.

Obviously, it's working.

I believe nothing I see as far as this investigation goes....and I take nothing at face value.

Good to hear.

As you can obviously see, many others are not taking the same approach.

They are taking this memo as gospel...and that is dangerous.

Yes, like you who said this release was merely propaganda to get attention away from the Mueller investigation.

You have shown no proof of the intent of the people that released it.

Clearly you have made up your mind, so agin you are criticizing wht you yourself are doing.

So what even if the FBI hedged a bit on a warrant to follow this geek all over Russia. SO WHAT

It has nothing to do directly with Trump.

In fact the FBI AGAIN I REPEAT HELPED TRUMP WIN!!!!!!!

THEY DIDN’T EXPOSE THEIR INVESTIGATION OF TRUMP!!!!!
THAT’S ALL THEY HAD TO DO!!!!!!

GOT IT

Does it get through the gray matter ?

And here we have it, an admission that who cares if the fbi broke rules, they have to get trump cause he is bad.

Who d8dnt see that coming.

That's pretty much the gist of the article as well.

And nobody seems to care that it's the same flyer circulating Devil Nunes again. Bummer. ATS went full blown Newspeak again and I missed the party.

How was it, Blackwhite?

Thanks!

And, FTR, I never considered Steele's political bias to be a "central pillar of Rep. Devin Nunes' memo."

I know some do, but I do not and mentioned it to you earlier today.

I don't think the source automatically disqualifies information and evidence. If it's good verifiable info that was obtained legally...then the source isn't important.

here is a good breakdown i found, hopefully this informs you,

alternatively you could just read the memo yourself as i have, its only like 2 pages...

Short version: Hillary & DNC paid people to create fake information that they used through Obama's DOJ & FBI to get warrants to spy on their political opponents.

Longer version:

1. Trump was winning the election and all known Trump scandals were not working for the DNC

2. DNC hires a smear company called "Fusion GPS" to dig up dirt on Trump

3. Fusion GPS employee, Christopher Steele, is paid $160,000 by the DNC and Clinton campaign to produce dirt on Trump

4. Chris Steele fabricates a dossier that includes known fictitious scandals

5. Steele: "[I] was desperate that Donald Trump not get elected and was passionate about him not being President."

6. Fusion GPS gives Steele's dossier to the FBI

7. FBI knows with certainty both the political origins of the dossier and Steele's financers

8. FBI tries to use dossier to get a FISA warrant to tap Trump, but the judge turns them down

9. Steele, under direction of DNC, leaks his fake dossier to various news outlets

10. The reporters that pick up the story for Yahoo and NBC work for Fusion GPS (DNC)

11. FBI shows FISA judge that news outlets are "other sources"

12. There are no other sources besides Christopher Steele and the FBI knows this

13. Deputy Attorney General of the FBI's wife worked for Fusion GPS – this was kept secret from FISA courts

14. Judge grants FISA warrant

15. FBI spies on Trump and finds nothing incriminating to justify the tap

16. Continue getting renewals on FISA warrant with fake news despite producing no new evidence (new evidence is a legal requirement for renewals)

17. Kept Trump tapped for the remainder of the campaign

18. President Obama has full access to FBI reports including campaign strategies, etc.

19. Obama *presumably* shares this information with Hillary for an advantage

20. Trump repeatedly states publicly that he has been bugged and the MSM laugh about it

21. MSM is certain Trump is going to lose, claims the election can't be hacked

22. Trump miraculously wins the election

23. MSM panic, claims Russia hacked election

24. DNC begins to panic, calls for FBI investigation of Trump as failsafe

25. Literally no evidence of any wrongdoing

26. Slowly the truth comes out

27. DNC, Hillary, Obama, and MSM say that this Memo release is meant to derail the boogeyman investigation

28. Only mention of Russia is when Fusion GPS sent a Russian lawyer to meet Trump's transition team

29. Devin Nunes says there are more memos on the way!

Laws Broken:

4th Amendment to the United States Constitution

18 U.S. Code § 371

18 U.S. Code § 1001

18 U.S. Code § 1623

18 U.S. Code § 2384

Yeah I really do need another breakdown. Or a really good summary. I still don't see that this memo thing is anything groundbreaking. It's all speculation and parroting of liberal or conservative talking points. Propaganda.

What is the issue here? Why is this memo even newsworthy?

Still not seeing it.

So, you don't understand that the evidence used to get the FISA warrant was a politically biased dossier full of nothing but lies and supposed rumors which was paid for the opposition political party?... This means among other things a conflict of interest was present, and it shows collusion between the DNC, the higher ups of the FBI and several FBI agents. Not to mention the fact that the FBI officials, McCabe and Comey, decided to hide the evidence from the FISA court showing collusion, bias in which Steele himself stated he was desperate for Trump not becoming President (which means he was willing to do anything including making up false rumors about Trump). This means the FISA warrant was not only illegal and that several government officials (of the Obama administration) made up a plot full of lies and false rumors to try to stop Trump from becoming President. Have you ever heard of Watergate? This is worse than Watergate. What is so hard to understand about that?...

any renewals are unlawful if they were based on evidence garnered through the original.

Sure? Who told you so? Why don't we see this alleged chain of bad evidence if this would be the case?

We don't see any chain. Obviously, this is purely hypothetical...hence the 'if.'

***

ETA: Although it stands to reason that the renewals would be based on evidence garnered via the original warrant. At least it sounds like that's exactly what the FISA court expects in order to renew.

There is a saying that is true to what has been happening with the Russian Trump collusion hoax.

"Lies spread faster than the truth"

The DNC, the Obama administration and the HIllary campaign (including Hillary) resorted to inundate the public with fake stories about Trump to change the opinion of voters. But it didn't stop there. Obama officials, McCabe and Comey among others, and members of Obama's DOJ alongside the left-wing media continued to inundate the public with fake stories about Trump when he became the President. But thankfully the truth has been slowly coming out.

For crying out loud, are leftists so ignorant about what is legal and illegal that you all can't understand what classified information is?...

Just like the release of the memo had to go through a process to be declassified, the material which Congress saw which corroborated the memo is still classified information and has to go through the same process the memo underwent to be declassified... The Trump administration can't simply "leak" the material evidence which corroborates the memo because it would be illegal to do so.

The memo is just round one. MANY irons in the fire with all the investigations going on right now.

Last week were being told the memo was the masterstroke that was going to put an end to Mueller's investigation, cause a wholesale purge of the FBI and result in several people going to jail.

Turns out the memo is mostly a regurgitation of everything the GOP has already broadcast out through right-wing media.

Now the new narrative is that this was just step 1! Not that important folks! This was just the introductory paragraph! Everyone is still going to jail!

I for one will wait to hear what Q has to say about it.

Regardless of what Nunes says in the memo, defense attorneys involved in any case resulting from this investigation are going to put all evidence under a microscope and if it was garnered in violation of their clients' civil rights...they will motion the court to rule it inadmissable.

Nunes' memo is just giving them a lead for that line of defense.

The Strzok stuff is one more lead.

Is Nunes the judge of all cases and decider of what evidence is admissible? No...of course not. But his memo will be something compelling for a judge to consider in any case materially affected by the Carter Page FISA warrant.
