I'm still a liberal. I'm still voting for Democrats. How is today's hyperbole any different from the previous years. It all sounds the same to me. In the end there will be no indictments and no arrests as usual.

If you're still a proud liberal, even with the Sex Scandals and Anti-Worker stance of your leaders, then there's no need of anyone trying to change your mind. I'm sure your loyalty is appreciated by the party. Send lots of money to the DNC this year. They need it badly.

I think you are making good points, but I would like to speak to the crux of your OP.

In short, yes liberals should leave the democratic party, just like most conservatoves should leave the republican party.

Both parties claims to do things for their base that they largely dont do.

Lets look at the dems specifically.

They are being driven to the hard left on paper, and so they are doing crazy things like refusing to work with trump on amnesty for 1.8 million people, etc. So that would worry a moderate democrats, or a working class liberal

However, if you are a far left progressive, the truth is the party is only paying lip service to you, and in fact cheated Bernie, who represented you best.

But yes, both parties need cleaned out.
Here is where you are right. I'm a lefty. The dems sold us out long ago.

What the Democrat's did to the liberals, after Dubya, is one of the most tragic tales in human history....

If you think the Democrats are bad then I have something even worse for you. Over here, we have the Labour Party. And they are openly communist, antisemitic, violent, anti British to the very core. They would make your skin crawl and want to vote for the Democrats.

Of course, like in the US, the very worst elements of this disgusting party of literal human filth are protected by the state and the system.

I love how Pelosi said a thousand bucks is just "crumbs".

I know several people that a thousand bucks would be make or break for them.

But shes a multi-millionaire, totally out of touch with reality.

i left the dem party when they stole the primary from Bernie. they need to become like the Whigs of the past as does the GOP for the good of the country. Both are too corrupt to be allowed to continue to subvert America.

voting for someone based on their gender alone is as ignorant as voting for someone due to their party, or religion. i do not understand this form of cognitive dissonance.

Yeah. I never understood “anyone but Hillary” either. But it worked. Anyone but a Republican male works for me.

I was an independent that leaned blue dog democrat for a long time, but they are pretty much extinct now.

Hope both parties fall apart with all the BS that is being flung about.

I agree. The Democratic Party and the Republican party have both changed to parties of the Rich and Elite. They don't care about us. They care about the Coal industry, Oil industry, Insurance industry, Pharmacutical industry and any lobbying industry that gives them money.

They both use a few catch words to diferentiate them from each other, like Global Warming or Abortion, but take the last two presidents, for excample. Obama didn't really do much to stop Global Warming...Bush almost did more. And Bush didn't really do anything to outlaw abortion. We vote for those two parties because of the catch phrases and terms but they really don't do much about them. Take smaller government too and less taxes...that's a republican stereotype that never seems to materialize.

Trump is the anomaly...not really a true republican...I don't like him but he's not who the republican party initially wanted in there.

It's time to dump these two parties.

If you are truly conservative, you should be voting constitution party or libertarian party. If you are truly liberal you should be voting green party. Or voting for truly independent candidates.

Right?

Folks, the solution is simple. Don't vote for a single incumbent in any election. They may have forgotten that they work for us, but ultimately we have a say at least for elected officials - don't vote for them. Let them spend their millions on re-election - don't vote for them. Vote in ANYONE else. Seriously! We almost CAN'T do worse! I'm pretty sure that no less work will be done by a bunch of newbies, but at least we would break some of these endless chains of power that help corrupt our system.

Shall we start a meme? #noincumbents

Republicans, for the most part, have completely rejected the far-right. There are no neo-Nazis, fascists or muh white supremacists serving in office.

Democrats on the other hand, have completely embraced the far-left. They openly allow socialist, communist and ANTIFA sympathizers, along with radical feminists and blatantly anti-white racists, to speak on their behalf in the media and not only serve in office, but at the head of their party.

2016/2017 was a real eye-opener to the general public about the current state of affairs for each party. As the Democrats continue to froth at the mouth and throw their tantrums on the national media stage, proving more and more that they care about themselves rather then the people they are suppose to serve by throwing not just the middle class, but 1.8 million immigrants under the bus... the next few years is going to be a huge wake up call for the next generation.

I think Mueller will try to conclude his investigation before the midterms. I am willing to accept the outcome no matter what it brings. But I am not sure everyone feels that way. Judging by some of the comments and posts here on ATS it seems this will not end well.

I'm a registered Democrat with no desire to change parties. I also have no intentions of voting one to office. I do get to play in their primaries though!

Play is the correct word! The 2016 election made it obvious that the DNC looks upon the Primaries as a simple game to entertain the kiddies. Their supporters wants, wishes, and votes are meaningless when it comes to actually selecting their candidate of choice.

RNC had that issue as well in 2008 and 2012. Apparently, having suffered the consequences of their actions...they did not make that same mistake in 2016! They obviously recognized that the majority of their voters are not mindless sheep that simply fall in line on command.

I look forward to see if the DNC learns their lesson come 2020...but so far the lead up has been disheartening to say the least. It seems they are still in the 'What Happened?' phase and haven't recognized that the majority of their voters are not mindless sheep too!
