Kinda feel bad for the judge, there is a real possibility their career becomes political splatter simply because they trusted an alphabet agency to do things correctly.

Let's just chill for a minute.

Can someone explain how a Yahoo News article has anything to do with this?

The memo says that the September 23 2016 fisa application for carter page cited a yahoo news story as corroboration for the dossier.

However, the Yahoo story by Michael Isikoff used steele as his source.

In other words, the FBI used steeles dossier to try to get a fisa warrant, and used a yahoo story that was based on Steele himself to corrborate the dossier.

Which means they used steele to confirm steeles story, which is outrageous.

According to Catherine Herridge, the dossier wasn't just included, it was the top line item on the FISA application.

If that was their best evidence, they had nothing. Disgraceful. The judge they tricked has got to be furious.

Yeah, that must have been it, which would also explain how the original FISA warrant was signed years before Steele's portion of the document was included.......

The dossier said page discussed removing sanctions in exchange for 19% of roseneft with sechin; that is wrong.

Actually, that's not what it says. It says:

In terms of the substance of their discussion, SECHIN’s associate said that the Rosneft President was so keen to lift personal and corporate western sanctions imposed on the company, that he offered PAGE/TRUMP’s associates the brokerage of up to a 19 per cent (privatised) stake in Rosneft in return. PAGE had expressed interest and confirmed that were TRUMP elected US president, then sanctions on Russia would be lifted.

It's not *entirely* clear from the context but in general, brokerage is connecting buyers and sellers. That's a service for which a fee is charged.

You are trying to say the fact that Page spoke with someone who worked at roseneft about the sale of roseneft, which was public knowledge, with no suggestion that trump get 19% of the company someone corroborates the dossier?

The person he spoke to about the Rosneft privatization wasn't merely *someone who worked at Rosneft* — it was the the head of investor relations. This is how Carter described him (Andrey Baranov) in December of 2016:

"I had the opportunity to meet with one of the top managers of Rosneft. The recent deal on Rosneft, in which the Qatar fund and Glencore were able to participate, is, unfortunately, a good example of how US private companies are limited to a greater extent because of the impact of sanctions, "Paige said, answering the question about whether he met with representatives of Rosneft in Moscow. "I think that in the new era of relations between Russia and the United States, most of all the forces need to be applied to the support of the new US administration, from the point of view of business," Paige noted. In his opinion, the transformation of the role of the private sector should become the central element of US-Russian relations. "You know, Igor Ivanovich (Sechin - TASS comment) is the main supporter of this," Paige added.

That was during a second trip to Moscow in December which just happened to be a day or two after the Rosneft deal was finalized. In his testimony, he admitted that he had spoken to Andrey Baranov about the Rosneft deal in his earlier July trip referenced in the dossier. Strangely, in his testimony if you'll recall, Page tried to pretend that he didn't really know what Andrey Baranov's position was. That was a lie clearly as he sure as hell knew who he was in December when he was bragging to Russian media.

Also, "Igor Ivanovich" is Igor Ivanovich Sechin if you didn't pick that up from the excerpt. (just as side note)

Here's the interesting part. There was no media reporting of the meeting between Page and Baranov. It could just be a wild coincidence that Page just happened to meet a Rosneft executive and just happened to discuss the Rosneft privatization (of 19.5% of Rosneft in a mysterious deal in which nobody really knows who the purchasers were) but seriously, does that seem likely? Baranov already knew Page from years before. It actually makes more sense that Sechin would send Baranov to pitch something to Page than to do it himself.

Either way. It's either one hell of a coincidence OR Steele's source knew something but fudged the details a bit.

ETA:

And it's just another wild coincidence that Carter Page made another trip back to Moscow (with none in between) and met with Baranov again just a day or two after the Rosneft deal was finalized.

The FISA application used a Yahoo News article as supporting evidence that the dossier was independently verified, without noting that the Yahoo News article was actually based on information leaked to them by Steele. In other words, the dossier wasn't independently verified, and they misled the FISC.

Secret courts are using Yahoo news as supporting evidence. This is insanity.

Steele and FusionGPS shopped the dossier around to media outlets. Those media outlets then printed articles based on what was provided to them. Those news articles (Yahoo) were then used as a validation to whats in the dossier.

In essence they made the fraudulent dossier and then used the news stories to validate it.

All without telling the FBI?

The FBI was using Yahoo News articles to obtain wiretapping warrants

Let that sink in

Steele lied to the FBI about s[peaking to the media but FBI leadership knew what was going on.

Not so much the courts as it was FBI / DOJ. They are the ones who submitted the warrant application. They lied to the judge to obtain the warrant.

Democrats have always had a knack for baffling the masses with their bullspit.

People are catching on though and are seeing for themselves full eyes on what lying' smooth-talking crooks they really are.

We The People are going to force this into the light. We are not the ones who are stupid. That "dog don't hunt" anymore.

ENOUGH!
You are NOT the voice for the United States. You are PISSED at him and, frankly, I could not care less. We have witnessed a year long investigation which has had the evidence attention span of an ADD kid who'd drank a case of Coke while eating a bag of sugar. Every.single.effing.accusation has gone nowhere except rolling into the next, even more ridiculous accusation. It has wasted resources, it has wasted time, and it has utterly destroyed this country's confidence in our intelligence community. The IC, itself, has pissed away any and all credibility they once had in spades, they have eviscerated one of the most trusted institutions in DC, and they done it thanks to the demands, pissing, moaning, crybaby horsecrap of a handful of Americans unwilling to accept reality.

Really behaving like a mod there, btw you are not the voice of America either or none of your online far right friends

You are right.. As President, Trump is.
